not my cup of tea...too many keyboards, too pompous...besides, the voice of that one doesn't say much to me...the little dark that I like is that of Joy Division (plus a bit of The Cure, Bauhaus, Suzy) and some American bands (Christian Death, Red Temple Spirits)...but it must be said that the Sisters have revitalized a genre that in the mid-80s seemed to be in a deep crisis...moreover, among the dark bands of that decade, these seem to me to be the closest to certain solutions of 90s gothic metal (a certain grandiosity, an emphatic tone)...nah, too epic...I prefer the humble demeanor of poor Curtis...the review is nice anyway...

Well, maybe they have no value for you; for others, perhaps they do... someone might find a Dead C album (which you admire) superfluous and self-serving... "deconstruction" is an unpleasant, overused word, but that doesn't change the fact that much contemporary music is based on that principle... Anyway, I was referring to this debut album when I spoke of avant-rock... then the concept of "utility" of music could be discussed until the end of the world...

"the refined Robert Calvert" <<< is it the same as the Hawkwind one? Great find, Bjorky! ;-)

Well... for me there are clear boundaries between major labels and independent labels: either you’re a major or you’re independent... Epitaph (founded in '81 by the immense Gregg Graffin of Bad Religion, at just 15 years old) is an independent label. Without a doubt! :-)

Thank you, dear ones...@ Fest: this debut album by the RTX is by no means unbearable, I assure you, give it another chance... and honestly, I don't even find them unnecessary (considering the paths they opened for 90s avant-rock).
