fester, let's roll up our sleeves and churn out reviews like there's no tomorrow, staying true to our style: me with my suffocating details, you with your rock'n'roll. Let's take Debaser back into our hands! ;-DDD

the first part is trivial, then in the second there’s Unheard Music that saves the album... not on the level of Under the Big Black Sun, though...

"Of course, psychedelia is not something set in stone; after all, it is psychedelia. If premeditated, what kind of psychedelia is that?" <<< a reasoning that makes perfect sense, however: Is "Light My Fire" by the Doors psychedelic? yes Is it set in stone? yes. So who is right?---------- "Psychedelia is made up of only minor chords or also of simple-minded songs, think of Barrett, without pondering the cosmos, the fairies, and the meadows. Right?" <<< not really, especially the part about minor chords --------------------- "Oh, and do you think the late-period Pink Floyd works, like The Wall or Final Cut, are truly psychedelic?" <<< no ----------------- in any case, at least conceptually, punk and psych were at opposite ends until the magical 80s, when finally someone managed to create an alchemy between two styles that seemed so incompatible... oh, by the way, the Flaming Lips don’t really say anything to me.

I don't think the Beat Happening have much to do with the Fastbacks... weren't they making lo-fi? I'll check them out very soon anyway...
Amon Tobin Bricolage
Voto:
a truly captivating record (said by a layman)...I disagree with caz's opinion regarding "sample-based" music: for me, the sampler is an instrument, and harmoniously assembling all those musical snippets is as challenging as composing and performing a pop/rock song using traditional methods.
Steven Spielberg Duel
Voto:
Duel is a masterpiece, Spielberg's best film alongside Close Encounters of the Third Kind... the subsequent Sugarland Express is nice too... the review is practically perfect.
Amon Düül II Yeti
Voto:
a devastating experience, perhaps too much... it's an ocean of acid... it’s not as fun as Phallus Dei, but it’s full of sensational ideas... the work of the two guitarists is immense... the voice singing Archangels (practically John Lydon) is spectacular... a wild violin... moments of ecstasy between one high and another... it’s a colossus, the kind you listen to every now and then, but when you do, it shatters you...
Dogbowl Cyclops Nuclear Submarine Captain

I completely agree with everything that has been said above... an album to listen to with a smile, overflowing with imagination and colors... we are on the levels of the best Barrett and Ayers... dedicated to: all those who declared psychedelic rock dead too soon.
