The Damned have never really intrigued me, to be honest... can you recommend some of their songs? I’m not particularly crazy about British punk; I've never been able to stand Sham 69, except for, of course: "IF THE KIDS ARE UNITED THEY WILL NEVER BE DIVIDED!!!" :-D

I miss the Saints... but my favorite punks are neither American, nor English, nor Australian, but Irish: the Stiff Little Fingers!

I really liked this review... come on, 42 minutes is acceptable: I'll listen to them (as well as Ash Ra Tempel).

beautiful psycho, psychedelic review! :-) interesting proposal, I would also be willing to queue them up, but that "Fuck the timing" makes me think of Bardo Pond and then I start to hesitate :-/

I hardly ever listen to them...the acclaimed Sonic Reducer reminds me a lot of the MC5, for me punk is something else...this album dances between hard rock, garage, classic rock, the emerging punk, and the NY new wave (Not Anymore, my favorite!)...from that period, always halfway between classic and punk, I prefer the Australian Radio Birdman (much more imaginative)...kudos to the reviewer: really a great description...

In fact, the CCCP weren't doing punk... for me, this discussion about the necessity to sing in one's own language doesn't make sense... so, what language should "mixed" groups sing in? To me, it’s all a matter of style: rock music (of which punk is a part) aligns with the English language (except for sporadic geniuses like Ferretti, who managed to create a unique rock style sung in Italian)... then I don’t understand why music that aims for a "message" (be it punk or singer-songwriter) has to be sung in the mother tongue... the message should reach everyone! Not just those who can understand that language! The choice of one language over another depends solely on the genesis of a musical genre (rock was born in English-speaking countries)... one last thing regarding singer-songwriters: Van Morrison was one of the greatest singer-songwriters ever, but don’t tell me that the arrangements of Astral Weeks are secondary to the "message"...

Well, if the goal was to prove she is a director with guts, she fully succeeded... anyway, the greatness of Strange Days can also be found in its content...

I mean, let me understand, from a softie to a metalhead? So it's not true (as I believed) that people only change for the worse.
