Minutemen The Punch Line
Voto:
great album damaged, more for quantity than quality though...

"Nobody, for example, upon the first listen of damaged understood anything" <<< what is there to understand about damaged??? :-D

Well... for me, The process of weeding out is the antithesis of math-rock (that album has nothing "mathematical" about it)... I like Ginn, he was the first great guitarist in the hardcore scene, he showed (before Mould and his "recurring dreams") that it was possible to blend the harsh sounds of hardcore with improvisation and the psychedelia of Hendrix... what is a spiel?
AC/DC Highway To Hell

Sanjuro, don't offend Luca Sardella! :-D
Joni Mitchell Hejira
Voto:
The slick had an incredible voice, but to call her a genius... (I mean, where do you leave Kantner, Kaukonen, and the whole gang?) ;-)

Yes, compared to Blue there’s more at stake, richer arrangements... anyway, Mitchell is a genius, there’s no escaping that...

You're welcome! ;-)

@fest: yes, in terms of sound, Double Nickels is quite homogeneous... the guitarist of Saccharine was Joe Baiza (who might be a nice person, but as a guitarist, he's worth about a tenth of Ginn and a hundredth of Boon :-DDD)... regarding the use of voice in Minutemen, the comparison with Dylan makes sense for some tracks (the more laid-back ones, like History Lesson), while for the more intense songs, you can feel the hardcore influence... @iride: have you met Watt???? how lucky! ;-))
Black Sabbath Paranoid
Voto:
@Zion: well come on, this album can easily be classified: hard rock, metal, hard 'n' heavy... ;-)
Flesheaters A Minute To Pray, A Second To Die

I also devoured the first two albums... they sound worse than this one... and there's neither sax nor marimba... but they are faster and sometimes truly irresistible... Chris D's unique voice dominates.
