Dave, if you stop talking about music, do yourself a favor... since I like you, I truly regret to notice that you’ve become the laughingstock of Debaser, since the good soul of Walterstarman has left us... I’m not joking: when you talk about post-77 music, you really give off a stinking impression of incompetence.

nobody (I repeat: NOBODY) sounded like Morphine...they had an unmatched personality...zero revival...dave, listen to me: go back to pre-77 rock, which is the only thing you’re capable of understanding (no offense, but that’s just the way it is)

Yes, but there are other forms of Art besides invective, for example, the panegyric...

Sanjuro, you make me laugh... first, you give me all these mega-speeches like "music shouldn't be described, it shouldn't be understood blah blah blah you're always trying to 'understand' Lynch and never 'be' Lynch blah blah blah always looking for meaning blah blah blah your reviews are all encyclopedic, didactic, linear blah blah blah you're just accountants, bean counters" and then there you are, simmering with resentment over a shitty rating... honestly, if there's one thing that shows dullness, ultra-rationalism, schematism, didacticism, pedantry, etc... it's obsessively fixating on a score, whether it's one point higher or lower. How can you give the Doors a 4 or Queen a 2... reducing the value of a work to a little number is much worse than writing descriptive and detailed reviews...

Abbas Kiarostami Dov'è La Casa Del Mio Amico? (1987)

Well done Sabatino: a beautiful essay on Kiarostami's cinema... this film is remarkable, but my favorite remains "E la vita continua," which is also his most abstract film in a sense, as it combines a look at the miseries of his people with a keen reflection on the ethics of cinema...

one of the absolute masterpieces in the history of rock...excellent review, I particularly agree with the whole discussion on rock'n'roll and its transmutation...

I understand... anyway, it's one of the most incredible albums among all those I've listened to recently: I had never heard music like this before, so full of echoes from distant places, yet so new, so futuristic... snippets of sounds and noises jumping out from all directions, overlapping with each other, piling up... truly impressive...
