Pink Floyd A Saucerful Of Secrets
Voto:
The first album without Barrett and with Gilmour in the lineup. "The Piper at the Gates of Dawn" was a masterpiece (and there's no arguing about that), this one is slightly inferior. But then again, I am one of those who goes wild for "The Dark Side of the Moon." Of course, "Jugband Blues" is a masterpiece like no other.

I would define it a proto metal album. Anyway, it’s more of a 4 than a 5.
Quicksilver Messenger Service Happy Trails
Voto:
The quartet in a state of grace. It upends the rules of music and stretches a suite to 25 minutes, but the winding hard rock distortions, the jazz interludes, and the hallucinatory vision are fantastic. The second side is, if possible, even more enveloping: "Mona" is sung with remarkable blues grit by Duncan, "Calvary" gives you goosebumps and winks at Miles Davis, while "Happy Trails" is a worthy closing that misleads and shuffles the cards, just like the beautiful western cover that has marked at least one generation. John Cipollina was a top-notch guitarist; our John Cipollina (in De-Shirt on De-Baser) deserves to carry that name (albeit distorted)?
The Kinks The Village Green Preservation Society

You know what? I don't like it that much. The Kinks metaphorically take refuge in the countryside to escape the pressures of the record label, and they record an album that is undoubtedly interesting and has some good tracks, but is also a bit boring and inconsistent, an unprecedented commercial suicide. It's no coincidence that it's the last album by the original lineup. It's a bit like the "Let it be" of the Kinks, nice but not wonderful. The masterpieces by the Kinks are elsewhere: "Face to face," "Something else by the Kinks," just to name a couple of the best. And even here on DeBaser, there's often a tendency to overestimate.
Jimi Hendrix Electric Ladyland

But is there really some brainless person who would give less than a 5 to this masterpiece? Songs like "Burning of the Midnight Lamp" or "Voodoo Chile" are worth the praise all by themselves. And just think, this is even a double album. Immense Hendrix.

In line with the review, I would have talked a little more about a masterpiece like "Black Cat."

I completely agree with Michele Mari.

Nice recommendation Psychopompe, unfortunately I don't know them. I will take care of it.

For people like Scaruffi, there are nursing homes, not websites. Masterpiece.
The Doors Waiting For The Sun

Doors in a minor key. They lose some of their proverbial grit and cheekiness to settle into a more comfortable pop radio sound, even if "Hello, I Love You" is still a beautiful track. A few flashes of ingenuity, and even an anti-militarist clunker like "The Unknown Soldier" that will disappoint many fans. This marks the beginning of the Doors' decline, although "Morrison Hotel" will not be a bad album at all.
