I agree with Aniel when he says that the jam wasn't the best and that it was mostly Vai who made an impact! Anyway, the album is great! For Dreamwarrior: surpassed by whom? There are a bunch of his "clones" (they even copy his style) who are absolutely not capable of creating solos like he does...e.g. Bellas, Shima, Stump, Ohta, and many others...

I believe this is one of the best albums of PURE GUITAR PLAYING I've ever heard! That said, I think between the two, the genius was Friedman (who really has TASTE in playing). Becker could only do sweeps at 300, and quite vulgarly at that, with no hint of elegance... I just have to remember the cover of "Black Star" played in a dreadful way! I don’t see all this genius in him; in fact, if shredding has become (especially) noise, the blame lies (especially) with him...

Great album, definitely one of the best I've ever heard...hard to find a track that stands out above the others, the first 4 are certainly beautiful and "the cinema show."
