Absolutely essential album
Frank Zappa Shut Up 'N Play Yer Guitar

I love music, I'm sorry to contradict you, but the fact that Zappa was inspired by those names was confirmed by him himself... As for the 5... Well, honestly, I don't think it deserves that, so for Hot Rats, Grand Wazoo, and Uncle Meat, should we put 87/5=???
Megadeth Rust In Peace

But what do 15-year-olds have to be always pissed off at the whole world and listen to ONLY this stuff?
For goodness' sake, great album in its genre, but personally, I'm more inclined towards a completely different genre of bands (compared to that period)...
Joy Division Closer

The album is immense, but in fact there were already two reviews.
Gino Vannelli Brother To Brother

I was referring to Manring, of course.

Just music? Then listen to Michael Manring ;-)
Frank Zappa Shut Up 'N Play Yer Guitar

Yes, I gave it a 4 because I don't consider it among Zappa's essential works, even though it's very beautiful; I know that he had already used that technique before, but here it takes on greater importance, given the characteristics of the album, right?
Cowboy Junkies The Trinity Sessions

Nice record, very well-written review.

Well, MisterNo, from what I've gathered, you're looking for more jazzy sounds. In that case, I would highly recommend listening to (if you haven't already) the albums by Steely Dan... Aja, Gaucho, Two Against Nature all have a strong jazz component while still adhering to the song form. Exquisite. Or check out Michael Franks, a fantastic singer much more connected to jazz compared to Vannelli (though the latter, with albums like Yonder Tree and Slow Love, has come quite close to Franks' style).
