Roberto Vecchioni Calabuig, Stranamore ed altri incidenti
Voto:
Very good review, mostly agree with it apart from a few points – for example: in the verse from the newspaper of "Stranamore (this is love too)" I believe the narrator's voice is that of the one receiving the punches: just details, anyway. For me, this album is very beautiful, among the best of Vecchioni's period (who published excellent works for a good ten years, at least until "Hollywood Hollywood").

Splendid. Perhaps the best along with "The man who sold the world."

Splendid; of those I know - I recently rediscovered it - the best along with the dark and beautiful "The man who sold the world."

I don't know this one, indeed; as far as I'm concerned, however, my favorite album of theirs is the excellent "Hair of the Dog," from the following year.
Alice Alice canta Battiato

"The Sun in the Rain" - I agree - is a beautiful album. But I’m fond of Alice from the early eighties, there’s no changing that. :-)
I haven't listened to the album in question, but I've heard several of their duets - even live - and some of her (of hers) covers of the great Franco - maybe it's a coincidence, but I'm attached to Battiato from the early eighties, there's no changing that - in other contexts; and well, a lot of great stuff.

Personally, I find "Fanfare for the Common Man" extraordinary - for various reasons. Excellent and straightforward review.

"...that for many of you dullards is a flaw." Perhaps a couple of commas would help sometimes. :-p

I find this album very, very beautiful; and "Rat bat blue" is perhaps my favorite track of theirs - perhaps simply because it's not overexposed.
