System Of A Down Toxicity
Voto:
Here it is, I did it, I read it all. Incredibly, it's a very long review but not verbose. Anyway, this thing about appreciating a band more when you hear a cover has happened to me... guess which band? Well, sorry, I'm obsessed: Subsonica when they did the cover of "Per un'ora d'amore" by Matia Bazar (who, by the way, I really can't stand now, like really can't stand, but back then they were quite ahead) where, among other things, Ruggero sings too, and the result, I assure you, is extraordinary. As for "Toxicity," it's an album I still need to listen to properly, but it really grabs me; once I've absorbed it, I think I'll gain a lot from it... and then sooner or later I’ll have to decide to download the lyrics because right now I just hear screams and growls without understanding anything!... Actually, I think I'll listen to it now.

I finally listened to this CD!! Beautiful, wonderful, awesome.. only superlatives to describe it!!.. and great job Cleo, I’m reading all your reviews because you write wonderfully; in just a few words you manage to convey the idea of an album perfectly!

So, this review was written by 1. a cheeky debaserian who just wanted to mess with us all (come on, even I who was and somehow still am a fan of this group could never give them a 5!!) and for this reason wanted to hide behind anonymity, 2. a passerby who wanted to leave a trace on debaser knowing that the Linkin are always warmly welcomed:-), 3. a masochist who wants to have an overflowing inbox (in case they left their email, obviously!). In any case, a pointless review since there were already two!!.. the album, on the other hand, is the only one from Linkin that I'm missing but I believe I will never fill this gap; the ones I have are more than enough!

You won't believe it, but I heard "margherita" for the first time the other day in Sanremo (though the version of strawberry is also strong!!) ...however, I have "notre dame de paris," and it's a CD I really listened to a lot two years ago... and I even combined the useful with the enjoyable by learning a few words of French!

Too bad they were eliminated in Sanremo!!.. their song was quite pleasant, it started off slow then picked up the pace, it vaguely reminded me of the Muse from Absolution (but maybe that's nonsense, I've only heard it once) and above all it strayed quite a bit from the musical garbage that young people have been proposing for years!!.. for me, it's also the name that got them, too similar to my beloved (and much more famous) Subsonica!!

JimMorrison and dotsCazdots have an incredible ability to derail comments!! In this, they are truly unique; they should write a book "How to Degenerate a Discussion in Three Seconds," it would be a best seller!!! :-))

"Music is not just emotion," so what is it? Music is and must be emotion. Emotion in playing it and emotion in listening to it; otherwise, it is useless!!!

Oh, Asylum, before telling people to fuck off, learn to read (in fact, seeing your nickname makes me doubt), understand?.. this is what I believed BEFORE!!.. Fidia, I swear I’ve heard this bullshit somewhere, maybe on the radio (I listen to RTL where they’re not exactly musical geniuses!!) or on TV Sorrisi e Canzoni, anyway I know I've always associated gothic with Evanescence and let’s say there’s enough to be ashamed of without nice people telling me to fuck off, right Asylum?

Senmayan, you're right, when it comes to music, I admit I'm quite ignorant. And I'll explain why: I started getting interested in music at 14 years old. The problem is that my sources of musical knowledge were mainly MTV, TV Sorrisi e Canzoni, Top of the Pops, Festivalbar... in short, you can see that I couldn't really learn much, especially when it comes to music history! If you then add that my knowledge of notes, chords, and scales is basically limited to three years of keyboard lessons in middle school, the situation isn't the best. For years, I let myself be fed a series of absolutely insignificant music (looking back on it) with a passive attitude on my part. And so I was convinced that Linkin Park was the greatest metal band in the world, Nickelback the inventors of hard rock, and that before Evanescence no one had ever played gothic metal. In short, a desperate situation. But now I've had enough; I want to start understanding something and maybe develop a certain critical sense. That's why for the past couple of months, I've been downloading and reading a lot of biographies and discographies of the greats in music, those who really made music history. I'm starting with Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Deep Purple, but I'm just at the beginning. From this point of view, I hope this site can help me break down some prejudices, including the one that claims that anything older than a certain number of years is "old" and not worth listening to. I hope I answered your question thoroughly. Bye.
Supergrass Road To Rouen

I happened to listen to this CD yesterday. Honestly, I had never heard of this Supergrass before. Seeing the cover and reading that it was recorded in France, I thought it would be one of those chill out things like Buddha Bar. Instead, it's a whole different thing; I've only listened to it twice, but overall it seems pleasant even if nothing exceptional.
