Well Zion, I believe the concept of "soul" is quite subjective... that sound you call "different" I find cold, boring, and suitable for stadiums, that's all... I much prefer "exciter" among the albums of old age.

Thank you again, everyone. @ghemison Yes, I believe they have influenced almost everyone... certainly bassist Larry Graham, with his unique way of creating a percussive groove and especially for slap, has been crucial for both Flea and Claypool, but we could go on for hours...
