The Verve No Come Down (B Sides & Outtakes)
Voto:
I stopped with britpop when I was 13/14 years old, before that I was a fan of Oasis, but also Blur, Suede, and so on. Now I just can't deal with it anymore; it bores me to death. Then there’s that certain something in all the English bands from that time, maybe it’s a way of understanding melody or maybe it’s just the atmosphere of the songs that gets on my nerves.
Elliott Carter Piano Concerto / Variations for Orchestra
Voto:
Great composer the old Carter, music nonetheless challenging if you're not used to it. Of absolute quality is also his Symphony for three orchestras, the double concerto, and the quartets.
Tre allegri ragazzi morti Mostri e normali
Voto:
I have always liked La Testa Indipendente, but I haven't listened to it in quite a few years.
Sonic Youth / Mudhoney Touch Me I'm Sick / Halloween
Voto:
A lot of great stuff here, the cover by Sonic Youth is great, but the one by Mudhoney is even more so, with a Stooges-style ending. 5-5
Brutal Truth Sounds of the Animal Kingdom
Voto:
So many memories. They still remain among the best in the grind. Actually, now I'm bringing them out along with Pig Destroyer, just to grind my eardrums. I hope they can still hold up :D
Godflesh In All Languages
Voto:
I have always adored Godflesh, with their aseptic beats and icy guitars. To me, they are ten steps above Ministry (who are good, nonetheless), just to give an example. Broadrick has succeeded in incorporating metal into industrial while preserving the latter's chill, something few have managed to achieve. Great review, as always.
Luciano Ligabue Made in Italy
Voto:
Ligabue continues unabated to release albums. After all, as long as he sells a ton, he’s doing fine. Since he lacks musical talent, at least he can comfort himself with money, smart tactic.
King Crimson Discipline
Voto:
Knowing how to reinvent oneself, truly great.

About ten years ago, this review would have sparked a frenzy among enthusiastic fans and detractors.
MORTICIAN Chainsaw Dismemberment
Voto:
These are a memory (now a distant one, unfortunately) from my high school days. Back then, I listened to extreme metal and thus also to gore-grind. However, I don’t agree with the argument about heaviness; I’ve always preferred the sonic violence rooted in hardcore, but in grind, I think Benumb were more "badass." Ah, since I was listening to them a few days ago, I recommend Nails, a relatively recent and quite good powerviolence/grind band. this is their first album from 2010, 14 minutes of violence, you might like it.
