Gabriele Mainetti Lo chiamavano Jeeg Robot
Voto:
Seen tonight, it seemed to me at best decent, nothing exceptional.
Spike Lee Inside Man

Saw it tonight for the first time. I liked it.
Joel & Ethan Coen Non è un paese per vecchi

Saw it for the first time the other evening. Nice movie, but given the Oscars it won, I was perhaps expecting something more. Bardem was excellent (but not incredible as many say) and so was Jones. Brolin seemed quite insignificant and flat to me.
William Friedkin Il Braccio Violento Della Legge

Great film, with Hackman in top form, as often happens.
Arthur Penn Bersaglio di notte
Voto:
Great movie in my opinion. Plus, Gene Hackman is a fantastic actor.

I have always found this work stunning. Besides Aalto, I would mention van der Rohe, perhaps my absolute favorite. Then again, I speak as a layman, let’s be clear, I am anything but an architect. :)
Piero Dread #Interplay

This record is my cup of tea. Precise, really. Jokes aside, what the hell kind of name is Piero Dread? It's a bit like if an American jazz musician were named Johnny Improvisation or a classical composer called Fernando Passacaglia.
Igor Fëdorovič Stravinskij Works Of Igor Stravinskij

I remember that in a forum there was a very interesting discussion, starting from the fact that many people didn't like the music conducted by Stravinsky very much (too cold). In general, there is a tendency to set aside the music where the Maestro is conducting, preferring the reference recordings (Boulez and many others). But there's a catch: isn't it true that, with Stravinsky on the podium, we get THE TRUE music that should emerge from these compositions? Well, it might be a "disappointment" for many, but looking closely, it should have been what he actually had in mind. These are things one could ponder for hours, ahahah.

A matter of tastes (and also a matter of the staff's decisions on the direction to take, of course). I don't particularly like reviews of this kind, also because THEY ARE NOT reviews. Maybe I'm still attached to the old-school Deb, probably.

Reviews along these lines can also be interesting, I mean written with short internal stories to accompany the music in question. But they also need to discuss the album; otherwise, it becomes more of a short story site than a music review one.
