PIERO DREAD - #INTERPLAY (Halidon/Bizzarri Records)

Piero Dread releases his second album as a solo author and singer, a reggae musician of great stature, both in Italy and Europe.

The title is #Interplay and it is inspired by the musical interaction between voice and instruments, creating that "unique and unrepeatable magic" typical of every "session".

The album is multifaceted in its sounds and themes. It ranges from real love songs (such as "Lady" feat. Sistah Awa) to songs addressing social issues and denunciation (such as "Always On Line" or "Ordinary Daily", a song which features David Lion D).

Regarding the sound style and harmonies, it transitions from the most classic arrangements of reggae, new roots, and R’n’B to soul interludes (noticeable in "Ain’t Got No Easy"), funk (as in "Rolling Down" feat. Gemstone), and world music ("Righteous Way", for example).

There are many high-profile guests on the album, in addition to those already mentioned, starting with an Italian reggae legend like Bunna (Africa Unite) featured in "Direzione ovest", and including Esa (former OTR and veteran of Italian Hip Hop) who duetted with the musician in "Avanguardia".

The production of the album is equally noteworthy, involving over 20 musicians, both Italian and international, including Smoke (Nina Zilli's band) and House of Riddim, an European band of Anthony B, with whom Piero has already collaborated in the past.
