Paolo Conte Psiche
Voto:
In front of a record like this, one should cover their head with ashes, given the state we are in Italy.
And it's not just a matter of relativity, let's be clear.
One should have the courage to remain silent.
Listen.
And perhaps learn.
Paolo Conte Parole d'amore scritte a macchina
Voto:
Strange but true album, perhaps a bit off the beaten path for the use of plugged instruments, yet excellent (but is there an album by Conte that isn't up to standard?). Maybe the title track and "Un vecchio errore," the two most classic pieces of the album, deserved a bit more attention, as well as "Mister Jive," where the vocalist showcases all his vocal theatricality. Personally, I consider "The Dragon" the best track on the whole record... moving ahead a hundred years. Indeed, it was missing...

I own Insen, regarding collaborations between Noto and Sakamoto. Notable work, although at times pretentious.
I throw out a provocation: could it be that all this new frontier music has actually little to say as music in itself but instead fits better into a synesthetic context (I think of a certain type of performance...), perhaps because the future of music is increasingly about detaching itself from its context as we have experienced and known it until now: in short, the music industry is collapsing, physical media is disappearing, Venice is sinking, and I'm not feeling so great either...
Is this the new frontier of music? Trying to break free from its own context to reinvent itself in new forms?
I await your thoughts...

Well, I didn't mean to say that before Murcof electronic music was underage, far from it. Mine was a simple remark on the happy evolution of this genre, which seems quite rare to me these days.

Great Murcof.
It is the testimony that electronic music is now a mature genre capable of standing on its own and thinking for itself.
I still prefer Martes though...

Well, it's a matter of opinion... obviously education isn't a plugin that you can install at will... and neither is intelligence, it seems. Don't get worked up, just reread from the beginning.

In fact, I limit myself to expressing my point of view... for the rest, I agree with you, I am a bit of an extremist about it, but I believe that if the music world today is disappointing, it’s also because of these characters, who have the demerit of legitimizing attitudes, trends, or so-called attitudes that, in my way of seeing things (I repeat myself...), have nothing to do with music. It's not classism; I’m not going around saying that if you're not a super technician or don’t know how to play at least ten instruments like a damn virtuoso, you can’t call yourself a musician. Instead, I have a very romantic view of the matter, and that’s precisely why I highly despise those who treat it as merchandise. In my ideal world, Madonna would be cleaning toilets. And with that, I conclude my comments.

Yes, apparently they've dissolved... but what the hell kind of conversation is that? I mean, this whole thing about genres and scenes (you talk to me about "artistic and refined"... whatever!) is a farce that really doesn't hold up anymore: either you make music or you don't, and the rest is just about critical awareness. What does "generally, they are highly regarded producers in their field but still not known by the general public..." mean? If they collaborate with Madonna, they just suck for me because they distort the idea I have of music. Even if they were DJ Shadow, Moloko, or Kraftwerk. Personally, I repudiate Madonna and everything she represents because it's an idea of music I don't share. And I find it absurd that so many people come to her defense...
