An album to listen to with your eyes closed, in reverent silence, with your heart in hand but your mind elsewhere. I don't know where, but wherever you want to be, with this "Martes" you will never be on this planet. The debut work of Fernando Corona, known as MURCOF, born in Tijuana, Mexico, tells us about an ambient/electronic universe far removed from the cold and icy realms of the German cousins and not even comparable to the sugary backgrounds of early new age style. Forget everything and turn the page.

Here electronics meet the poetry of strings, the melody of minimal sonic structures, rhythm always whispered and slightly trance-like, and above all, the elegance of sound and arrangements. Sound craftsmanship that would make the Brian Eno of his best days envious (so current and "ahead" that it makes you forget it is an album dated 2002!).
We are in the vicinity of TO ROCOCO ROT, PAN-AMERICAN, where, I repeat, electronics speak the language of the heart and where the artist's classical and experimental past come together and harmonize, finding an unparalleled balance. Nine unmissable tracks of devastating class and beauty (especially MAIZ or MIR but believe me, it's very difficult to choose) that made me fall back in love with the genre and that I still consider one of my ten albums of the decade today.
Martes: probably the masterpiece of another planet.
