The Smiths The Queen Is Dead

Isn't there a clean guitar on this record??! Maybe there's a Low Fi version of The Queen Is Dead and I missed it?

Well.. I don't think the Beatles' Pop was one of the main influences for The Piper.. I would say more like the 13th Floor Elevators at most.

Look, the best I've encountered so far is Discoteca Laziale, not too far from Termini station..I don't know if you're familiar with it! Anyway, we need to come to terms with it, certain (many) records just can’t be found..it's a burden!
Serj Tankian Elect The Dead
Voto:
Apart from the fact that the album is essentially aimed at SOAD fans (so there's no "communicative urgency" from Serj, this is just an opportunity to line his pockets with money), this work by Sergio Tankian is an album by SOAD in every sense, with more acoustic sounds and fewer Nu metal guitars (plus the inclusion of utterly pointless piano arrangements, to be honest). When I then notice that the only interesting track in this musical junk (namely Praise the lord and pass the ammunition) is also ruined by a completely out-of-context piano insert, just to reiterate the classic "Aggressive moment, slow moment, aggressive moment," well then the rating can only be 1.

It's funny that you consider an album like The Piper to be "more listenable," which is infinitely more original, avant-garde, and "sick" than the "bourgeois" Dark Side, which is much more catchy and accessible, not to mention commercial (in the literal sense: it sold billions of copies). We both agree, however, that the first one is better than the second! As for the Beatles... I don't think they ever came close to the quality level (in fact, I'm quite sure!) of The Piper, not even with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the quintessential falsely psychedelic album.

Well, yes, giving 1 to this record seems quite out of place anyway... bye!

The title track rocks, but the rest doesn't blow me away.. some songs seem a bit random and self-serving.

one of the worst new wave revival bands. Ridiculous voice, absolutely fake..songs that represent the ultimate cliché of this genre. Personality = -5464748494132.

Let's say it's the least boring of the three I've mentioned :-)
