Well done, pretazzo! Great review.

I wholeheartedly agree with Enea's post point by point. Perhaps it's time for LatoB to take a step back.

And then you continue, "My quote cannot have stirred pain in anyone, since all those who experienced those events first-hand are dead." In this sentence, you display an irritating "arrogance" towards those who speak to you. It’s a serious misjudgment because you neither know the history nor the culture of your interlocutor. Think about it: I could be 80 years old, but "fresh" in spirit and writing here, right? And consider what I might have seen or endured! But I could also be a university researcher, a historian, a child of a war casualty, a Jew, a partisan, a grandchild of a partisan, a survivor of a concentration camp, or, more simply, a person who is inherently bothered by certain “lightnesses.” Rest assured that here, most people think for themselves. But let me also represent to you a risk that I too went through at a certain stage of my life: that of going against all preconceived notions with the justifiable desire to form my own opinion. The risk is losing the ground beneath your feet, seemingly soaring and finding yourself shattered. Balance is a fundamental factor.

More simply, when you say, "Why this shocked reaction? In my opinion, because we have been swindled enough on certain topics and we cannot think for ourselves. I would be curious to know exactly how it happened, how Nazism arose, what instances it promoted, and who..." do you realize the enormous contradiction in your words? First of all, it’s not true that to know, feel, and understand how it went, as Hal says, one must be there and in that historical moment. There are hundreds of books and direct testimonies, photos, documentaries, and films that absolutely should be seen and read (Some have gone so far as to claim that the Holocaust never existed, the revisionists).

I arrive a bit late. First of all, I must acknowledge the absolute courtesy, education, seriousness, and calmness of Hal's responses. Truly admirable. Let's move on to LatoB. As I approach the topic from LatoB, by default, I am more "raw," and perhaps this has confused you a bit. I won't respond point by point, even though I would love to, but there is one thing I want to tell you, and I believe it represents your greatest flaw (if you allow me): the premise is that you seem to be a capable and "thoughtful" person, but unfortunately, you seem to have the flaw you decry in the people who have posted here.

I would cook this Orlando slowly. With potatoes, it might be decent. How much these people without talent annoys me.

I don't have this album, but it definitely deserves a listen based on your description. However, between the two, I've always preferred Fagen (The Nightfly is one of my all-time favorite albums).

This is a phenomenal artist, especially in the '70s period indicated by Zion.

"My writings should be taken with that grain of salt, which, alas, is not part of your endowment." Read it aloud when you write. Anyway, given such arrogance, from now on I will keep an eye on your "writings."

Everything is great, but don’t come here telling us that Pet Sounds isn’t exceptional...
