I completely agree ngw, it was certainly not due to a matter of similarity in genres or style (nothing could be further from the truth) that I made the absurd comparison, but just to emphasize the fact that not always "keeping up with the times" (or surpassing them) and not doing so are indicators of musical goodness or nonsense. Don't you think?

Now I dare to make a comparison that will get me spammed for life, but just to clarify a way of thinking: FOR ME (I emphasize) Appetite is much better (definitely not in step with the times) than Psychochandy (which was almost ahead). The joy of the ear suggests it to me, nothing more.

Come on Mike, let’s not exaggerate... the guns weren't either ahead of their time, seminal, or very original, but Appetite is objectively a great album. Use Your Illusion, no, but still massively better than their contemporaries, Motley Crue or Poison. In the end, they were honest in playing their music, and when they stopped being so, they died out, rightly so. My personal opinion, of course...

Psychocandy overrated? I agree. So much noise and few ideas. In fact, the few good ones are repeated throughout the album. My Bloody Valentine on another planet in comparison.
