I disagree with vforvendetta; there are groups that have been around for over 15 years that continue—not to say they churn out masterpieces—but they try, with mixed results, to change and evolve. Unfortunately, the formula of PJ is always the same, and even if they feel inspired, the listener might get a bit tired of finding the same things in every new album. I’m not saying this album is like that; I’ve listened to it little, but still, Yield, and especially Binaural, were practically useless for someone like me who had the entire previous production. Just to give an example, Fugazi has been playing since the late '80s and still produces great albums; they have changed styles and sounds a lot, but they remain very relevant. The same can be said for the Flaming Lips, who have been playing since '84 and are still a bold band that has practically transformed their sound while managing to release excellent work even recently. There are many more examples than you think. Even Mudhoney (to stay within the so-called grunge area) have aged better than PJ, and it breaks my heart to admit it, but it’s true.

I read Pitchfork, but it doesn't hold any weight in any way. They are hyper snobby and absolutely personal in their judgments... and I might be wrong, but the feeling remains that the average age of the reviewers isn’t very high. They say some pretty ridiculous things, but they also review interesting stuff.

I like the Troggs, I don't know them much, it's a shame that this CD is missing "Lost Girl" from Nuggets II, which is one of my go-to tracks as a DJ.

Congratulations on the courage, kids. I've tried to listen to this CD multiple times, but in the end, it ended up in the trash bin of my laptop. The last time I listened to it, I was on the train, and it really tripped me out too much.

I just finished downloading it for a friend, but at this point I'm trembling... I think I'll stick to the good memories up until Vitalogy and No Code... I’ve never even listened to the rest of the albums, and maybe I made the right choice. Luckily, I saw them in '93 when they were at the peak of their abilities. Good times.

this is the gorin no sho by miyamoto musashi and they are two pointless things. it even seems that the historical authenticity of these texts is entirely to be verified. then their supposed influence on the behavior and thinking of the Japanese is an American and European myth. as if we were influenced by the divine comedy in our daily lives. ghost dog is indeed one of the least successful yet most famous films by jarmusch.

let's start the sequence of the same old recs that so far have been quite useless. well, you're happy. anyway, I'll take the album as usual, but for now it's not really exciting me, though it will probably grow on me as usual. anyway, aenima remains the top, no doubt about it.

I knew it, I'm completely hooked on the "yeah yeah yeah" song and its nonsense video; something happened that I would have never expected, this record got to me. Not everything blows me away, to be clear; the more dull and linear moments of "soft bulletin" and "yoshimi" don’t excite me much, but fortunately, there are few. A couple of observations: doesn’t "free radicals" remind you of "numb" by U2? "ambulance driver" and the third track have a faint 70's disco flavor; I don’t know, the guitar kind of reminds me of "figli delle stelle" by Alan Sorrenti. Has anyone else had similar impressions or am I crazy?

Hawkwind In Search Of Space
Voto:
Well done, Antonio. I also think there’s something genuinely naïve in the music of Hawkwind, but perhaps in a lot of music from the late '60s and early '70s. Especially if you read the booklet with all their half-serious theories about the Hawkwind spaceship and their whole trip about aliens. And Hall of the Mountain Grill is a good album, more refined but with fewer great tracks.
