I don't know, it bothers me the effect of nostalgia. In music, less so, in cinema... wait, maybe in both. But what really bothers me is the attempt to rehabilitate mediocre products and turn them into masterpieces just because they symbolize a generation that has seen them (mine and yours, perhaps?). I hated it when those older than me did it, and I hate it when my generation does it (and people in their 30s now are sooo nostalgic, more so than someone who was thirty ten years ago). Just like the entire re-evaluation of the cheesy Italian films from the '70s and early '80s. Well, some things are still funny, but hearing a piece of crap like "eccezziunale veramente" or "attila" being re-evaluated seriously gets on my nerves like a Mil Mi 24 Hind (just to reference a cinematic trope from the '80s Reagan-era Rambo).

You don't understand, Stipe, that it's a part of a book, stuck on like a review. Or rather, it's the protagonist's point of view (an '80s yuppie serial killer out of boredom) on the Genesis.

The same goes for what I said about the Goonies, but at least I feel more attached to this one since I saw it in the theater when it came out. I tremble at the mere thought of watching it again, and Limal should be hanged for that song. Better Labyrinth at this point. Although I would be afraid to rewatch that one too...

Bella Bartle, one of my favorites from Shinya, perhaps THE favorite (I know, Tetsuo is on another level, but this is a perfect blend of usability and visionary flair). But has anyone seen Soseji (Gemini) between Bullet Ballet and A Snake of June? Quite interesting too, although standard for its cinematic canons. Kudos to Mike76 for mentioning Hiruko, a glorious bit of trash with some very interesting demons. The fact that the Japanese accumulate violence is both the fault of the metropolis (here, obviously referring to large cities; in the countryside, they’re as relaxed as we are, believe me) and of the very medieval society they still cling to. It is fundamentally reprehensible to show dissent, to lose one’s temper. They hold firm to self-control, yet they have one of the highest rates of stomach and intestinal cancer in the world. And when you point this out, the usual response is, “Yes, but we also have the best surgeons in the world!” I feel like saying they should let themselves go, but they would suffer for it, and the conventions that bind them would still prevail. Perhaps this is also the reason for the prevalence of violence in film, comics, and anime. And let’s not forget that one of the most followed sports on TV and live over the last 10 years is Pride:

I had heard about it... presented at the Far East last year? Only notes: it's wrong to translate English titles into Italian, it's wrong to translate Japanese titles into English, but in this case the Japanese title is a transliteration of English words, so Wandafuru Raifu altrononèche... Wonderful Life... oh yes people, it's the Chinese who say PLEGO, while the Japanese only use the R. So, cycare cycare cycare... ah and Hirokazu is the first name, not the last name.

What a laugh all these comments over the span of 5 long years make me. As soon as I heard this album (but not at the time of the review, since it came out, if I’m not mistaken, at the end of 2001) I had more or less the same reaction... over time I got used to it like many of those present, but from there to shout “miracle” is a big leap. I don’t understand why to slam Karl... oh but of course, now they are institutions with a large following of fans, so it’s obvious that some people might disagree... if they had remained unknown, the comments would have been more lenient. The power of heavy rotation...

we're in a bad spot, kids, to say that these are hot. At least from the photo posted here: the girl on the left is just below average, the one at the top left might not be that bad, but she has the dumbest expression in the northern hemisphere. The one at the top right looks like she just came from a gang bang recording with Rocco, Peter North, John Holmes zombie, and Topo Gigio (the most dangerous of the four, obviously), and finally the girl at the bottom right looks like Mariah Carey (and if you come to tell me she's hot, I'll come find you one by one).

I can't give a completely positive judgment on the latest odra. Less kaleidoscopic than this one, which overwhelms more due to the continuous lack of reference points. Obviously, it's a nice little disc, but I think it gets tiresome before the aforementioned.
