Christopher Nolan Batman Begins

I'm sorry for my friend Ghemison, but this movie is a load of rubbish, as far as I'm concerned. In my opinion, there are two ways to properly adapt a comic into film: A) Make it IDENTICAL to the comic (see Sin City) B) Coat everything with a comic book-like, therefore unrealistic (surreal) patina, avoiding hyperrealism (see Burton). There are then the paths followed by various Spiderman (i.e., massive use of CGI, which makes everything ridiculous for other reasons), and the halfway point taken by this one, where they try to give a realistic spin to Batman's origins, resulting in making everything quite silly. Marvel/DC comics often disregard the laws of physics, just to say, so giving a realistic angle to these films is an oxymoron as far as I'm concerned. I can't imagine what nonsense could come out of The Dark Knight Returns..... I mean, they should have Superman show up getting beat up by Batman and then getting killed... I really don't think it's going to go down like that...

I don't know, I find Yonkers' listening experience a bit monotonous; he definitely had remarkable insights, especially regarding the darkness of sound. But unfortunately, based on how people talked about him years ago, I expected to be knocked off my chair. Beautiful page sharunas.

sharunas... I think I've more or less understood what you wanted to say, but in my opinion, you're overthinking the hidden meanings and artistic goals of Yeasayer. Not that it's wrong, but they don't really stimulate any deep thoughts for me. The cover is nice, but linking it to the situationist movement might be giving too much credit to these four twenty-somethings. I mean, I repeat they're definitely above average in their syncretic musical abilities (I added them to my end-of-year playlist, and they're growing on me), but I don't find them that "committed." Oh, I could be mistaken, but for me, apart from Wintertime, the album brings nothing but joy and doesn't remind me of the contemporary American political and social situation. I don't have the lyrics at hand, so maybe you're right, but for now, this album just brings me joy. As for the sources of inspiration, I mention them not to dissuade from listening, but because it comes naturally to me to try to express what they sound like. Anyway, it's difficult because, as I said, the references aren't blatant copies, but subtle allusions. Interesting thing about Tusk, I've been going crazy for sailin' on (I think that's what it's called) by Fleetwood Mac these days.

I have somewhere the first EP, released in the period following the departure of Kyuss. Typical stoner, back when it was just called that, around 97-00. At the time, interesting things came out, but perhaps from 2000 onwards the stoner scene diversified quite a bit. Back then, those who were inspired by Kyuss sounded LIKE Kyuss.

Beautiful Ali Farka, I like + the one with Diabate. What do you think of Tinariwen in this context?

I assume he was referring to the historic Live/Dead, then I never got the "From The Vault" ones due to the sky-high prices. Speaking of live '60s... I sprinkle ashes on my head for forgetting (besides the MC5) a certain live performance at the Monterey Pop Festival by Hendrix...

Come on, Kaleidoscope is really nice (not one of my favorites but it grows on you with more listens). In A Gadda: Well, as far as I'm concerned, I got it, but I always skip to the last track... I don't really like the rest that much. There’s a wealth of psychedelic stuff from that era... just a random name: United States Of America. Or the early Deviants, Lemmy's first band Sam Gopal, The End... well, on these two blogs you’ll find plenty of stuff to listen to: XX or balık hafızası Ola!

I don't know, a band that, apart from the MONSTROUS "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida," makes me laugh quite a bit. There was better stuff during the same period. Honestly, I've never heard this live recording, but to even consider it one of the best albums of the 60s and 70s seems to be thrown out there randomly. For 60s live albums, "Live Dead" would be enough, as Supersoul said, but looking closer, there are HP Lovecraft in San Francisco, the Electric Prunes live in Sweden....etc etc.

she wanted to be a nice prefect, but she actually seems really nasty. I have some stuff from Black Moth, but not the latest one you mentioned. Interesting, but during the hippie era they wouldn’t have given them a second thought.

In truth it would be "sekkusu," because that's how it's written in katakana. I'm also against shoegaze revival, especially because apart from MBV, the rest bores me to death. The voice of the Japanese is a kick in the ass, I'm sorry. Discarded after a few listens, and not even a few!
