Dizzy Gillespie And The United Nation Orchestra Live At The Royal Festival Hall London

I know that there is also a DVD version of this live (I think it's the same, right?) and given the review, I will make the purchase.
Jean-Luc Ponty King Kong - Jean-Luc Ponty Plays The Music Of Frank Zappa
Voto:
Years ago, I was lent the LP of this album. I remember very little about it, but it seemed noteworthy to me. I know that now a double CD of Ponty has been released, containing this album plus another, all remastered. I will make sure to buy it as soon as possible.
Frank Zappa Frank Zappa Meets The Mothers Of Prevention
Voto:
I agree with everything Mandrake says, a necessary album for Zappa and for America of that time (and perhaps even now) but not among the essential albums of Uncle.
Charlie Chaplin City Lights
Voto:
Congratulations on the review (the rating I give to the album is more for the film) my ranking of Chaplin (rating and order of preference): 10 City Lights - 10 The Gold Rush - 10 Modern Times - 10 The Great Dictator - 10 The Kid - 10 Limelight - 9 Monsieur Verdoux - 9 A Woman of Paris - 9 A King in New York - 7 The Circus.
Frank Zappa Sheik Yerbouti

I just realized that I gave the album a 3, but it should have been a 4; I'll fix that right away.

Kobe-Bryant, why are you defending Poletti without knowing the subject at hand?

"Musical tastes are always personal, so in my opinion, most of Zappa's albums released in the seventies are definitely of lower quality compared to certain masterpieces like 'Hot Rats' or this 'Sheik Yerbouti.' It's true that tastes are personal (not just in music), but it's also true that you've shot down Zappa's albums that are NOT valid FOR YOU, but yours seems more like a VERDICT rather than YOUR 'taste.' AND IN MY OPINION, you should have focused on praising this album (which I believe is inferior to many others from the '70s) without making comparisons, and 'taste' needs to be refined (but that's another topic...).”

This know-it-all is an excerpt from Uncle's long speech on criticism and the world of rock; this is an excerpt that, as you say, turns into a sort of aphorism.

But what are you saying, know-it-all? What he says is pure gold (I don't know, I got it from music journalism). Why do you think Zappa was talking nonsense?
Tom Waits Mule Variations
Voto:
I wasn't excited about this album from the good old Tom.
