Rewatched 20 days ago, it had "less impact" on me, and I noticed several gaps in the screenplay and direction. However, the image of death playing chess and the "Felliniesque" dance at the end of the film will remain a very powerful icon in the History of Cinema forever...

I also wrote a review of THIS album and gave it 2 stars. By coincidence, BUGO HIMSELF wrote me an email criticizing the way I reviewed the album and blah blah. For this and other reasons, the review was REMOVED by the Editors like ALL my reviews of Italian artists. Those WHO KNOW remember the events well...

Dear Antonio d'Este (are you from Padua by any chance?)... if I had had only 1/3 of Metheny's ability and talent, I definitely would have done "something else" rather than 20 years of "guitar spippets" around things I know how to do (exceedingly well, mind you!). And if I had been a "true Artist" with the guitar and my music, I would have dared more than just settling for nibbling in my fenced garden of jazz, fusion, and little else.
