What a drag, alright, it's not punk in the strictest sense of the term! You can't expect a real punk album in the 2000s, I think that's normal... real punk was listened to twenty years ago... No wonder you labeled it punk-rock, which represents everything that came after punk... This isn't even a masterpiece of punk-rock, but it definitely offers a good alternative.

I don't find them as bad as you say...the singer is strong. Also, they don't seem to be that advertised. The old records are really good, maybe this last one less so; it's a bit more melodic, but I enjoyed listening to it.

I had already heard them before NME, and to be honest, they are not that commercial. I believe we need to distinguish between two types of "success." One is due to the commercial setup of the album and the other earned through their performances. Well, the Arctic have done many performances; they made themselves known well among the venues in Sheffield, and they owe a lot of their success to that. In this case, perhaps the press and NME itself haven't been beneficial to them...
