THE REVIEW

Sara and Dustin met in college and after discovering their love for music, they decided to form a band, the "DEVICS."
Starting from Los Angeles, they arrived in Italy and stayed here for a year or perhaps forever. Falling in love with our land, wine, and food, they settled in a farmhouse in Romagna and there they recorded "The stars of saint andrea," dedicated to a place called Sant'Andrea.

Today, February 17, 2006 (magic of the web), "Push the heart," their third album, is released, usual PORTISHEAD influences and also a bit of BLACK HEART PROCESSION, sensual and nocturnal music, capable of touching the heart and making us dream. The charm of the Devics lies in their tender and immediate melodies, instruments that seem like toys create seductive atmospheres, the languid voice of Sara Lov whispers words that directly touch the soul.

"Push the heart" is perhaps even more delicate than "Stars of saint Andrea," but it carries within it the same beauty, the sunsets inspiring our friends are now no longer those of California but those of our hills, and some differences can be felt. "Lie to me," piano and moog used in an unconventional way open the album, "A secret message to you" begins with the sound of a typewriter following the entire track, contributing to creating a distance between Sara and the listener, "Salty seas" starts with a duet between piano and guitar and when the voice comes in, I assure you it's an emotion, "Distant radio" is a small gem with a very sexy voice, "Moments" is one of the most intense moments, the piano duets with Sara sweetly and erotically, "If we cannot see" opens with Dustin's voice which later joins with Sara, epic, "Come up" closes the album, one of the most beautiful pieces.

It's difficult to capture in words the depth and intensity that "Push the heart" manages to deliver, emotions follow one another endlessly, magical atmospheres and shivers on the skin... may the stars of Sant'Andrea always illuminate their sky and may their sky always reflect the same light back to us, for now everything is clearer...
Masterpiece!
