When we talk about rap, certainly "poetry" is not the first thing that comes to mind. We might think of gangsta rap, and some boss-rapper surrounded by money and chicks, or we might think of the street kid making his way with freestyle, we might think of huge crews, we might think of aggression, style, rhymes, anger, but certainly not poetry.

Here’s who breaks the mold in Italy: Nesli, aka Francesco Tarducci, releases Ego, an album that in my opinion is stunning, demonstrating that he is not the usual rapper angry at society as his (crazy) brother Fabri continues to be.
Breaking the stereotype of the angry rapper: but how? By thinking about what life is, who we are, where we came from, who sent us? Why not? Enough with sluts, hassles, fights, treacherous society, enemies, enough with all that. Now rap becomes much more introspective and poetic.
And it works, and it works great.

Ego is a wonderful album, for which you need to stop, listen in silence, think and shed at least three tears before starting to run again. That's right. Cry, think about how true what this guy is saying is. Words destined for everyone, words that contain truths that it’s useless to deny. Try to, you won’t succeed, you would be lying to yourself. So what? Try to be silent, but do it for real, be silent and listen to what he has to say to you. Or better yet, try to listen and ask yourself "how true is what he says!." You will be astonished.
Yes ok, Club Dogo are great. Yes, ok, Marracash is awesome. Yes, perfect, legendary Asher Kuno. But the emotion this man gives you, who else can?
