The review is well-written, but I absolutely disagree. I find the comparisons made to be incorrect, as well as the reasoning behind them. It's too extreme to be shared as an opinion, in my humble opinion, despite all the strengths and weaknesses of the "cockroaches."

It is misguided to hold the preconception of placing the Beatles at one extreme or the other: the greatest band of all time or the most overrated, both are wrong.

A highly respectable point of view, but perhaps you've expressed the spirit of your thought a bit poorly, implying that the Beatles were insignificant. I partially agree with what you’re saying. It’s true that there have been more influential groups, but the context in which the Beatles emerged was the '60s; their first album was released around '63/'64, and to see artists like Black Sabbath or Jimi Hendrix, we would still have to wait a few more years (and in music, as we know, even a couple of years can make a difference). There’s no comparison with them, and it shouldn’t even exist. The comparison with the Rolling Stones, on the other hand, is more acceptable, and here we are talking a bit about personal preference, I think, and the eternal “battle” between the two groups, which were nonetheless different in terms of "character" and/or their more or less bold/provocative youthful ways. Let’s say you are partially right, but the Beatles and the atmosphere of the '60s blended magnificently, and their musical and cultural phenomenon (aided by the genre they presented) was evidently remarkable. Surely there were artists much more valid almost at the same time, but to say that they contest for the title of the most overrated of all time is heresy, especially when said in 2006, a time when we see all sorts of things.

Sorry, but can I ask you a question? Don't you get tired of hearing the same things about these DTs that you then judge (correctly) with a low score? I understand the enthusiasm for a band you can be a fan of, but self-flagellating your ears? No.

I agree with the serious commentators who have spoken so far (except for Stronca-coglioni, of course), that Bersani is one of the few young Italian singer-songwriters who gives meaning to his songs. The review could have been a bit more generous.
