Great album, at least as much as "In A Flat Field." In the bonus tracks there's that gem of the grotesque, "Harry," which cracks me up. It sounds like hearing a vampire Bob Marley or Dracula in the Caribbean. Absolutely perverse! A dark band shows they are great even when they can demonstrate irony.

Oh yes, this is crap!

Dark wave is one of my favorite (sub)genres. Dark rock, on the other hand, is one of the ones I dislike the most. I don't know this album, but I've already heard "The First Chapter" and "Masque," and if that tells me anything...

Stunning album, for me it’s their best and one of the peaks of the entire new wave.
A review that matches the record; I can only give a solid double five!
Really, congratulations.

Bauhaus Burning From The Inside

But "Who Killed Mr. Moonlight" was sung by Murphy, right? I thought it was Jay or Ash. Anyway, I'm not crazy about this album, maybe because it feels like it lacks the leader's voice, and the one who replaces him just doesn't measure up. From this work, I prefer the tracks that lean more towards their past works ("Burning From The Inside," "She's In Parties," "Antonin Artaud"), but even the medieval-sounding "King Volcano" isn't bad (even if those choirs aren't the best...). Ultimately, a decent album, but I think they did well to stop here.
Siouxsie And The Banshees Hyaena
Voto:
I absolutely don't find that Hyaena is gloomier than its predecessors, on the contrary. From punk-dark, it shifts to a sort of more fairy-tale like gothic pop (except for "We Hunger," which is overtly dark). I do agree that in this album you can feel Smith's influence, but more of that from "The Top" than from the trilogy. It's a brilliant album, nonetheless, that has renewed their style while keeping the quality of their music high.
To Sylvian1982: Siouxie a poor copy of Smith? Have you ever tried listening to "Join Hands" and "Three Imaginary Boys" (both from '79)?
Christian Death Only Theatre Of Pain
Voto:
It's the only album I have from them, but it's a great album, no doubt about it. Good review, although you focused more on the character of Williams than on the album itself.
