I've never heard the album, but congratulations mien_mo_man, you really know how to write well. You're also doing a great job of resurrecting the lesser-celebrated new wave: double kudos.

Well, I’ve always thought they were crap too. Max Pezzali is at best a decent composer of cartoon themes elevated to singer-songwriter status by that clever guy Cecchetto, the biggest seller of crap in the history of Italian music (and for that, I actually respect him; it’s not easy to get rich selling crap).

"Maybe the screenwriters thought that making parodies of Hollywood movies always works... they were gravely mistaken." But in the meantime, they’ve pulled a fast one on you! I might be superficial, but it took me just 5 seconds of the trailer to decide not to watch it.

Nice film, the review starts off that way but then turns into a sermon.

Nice the movie nice the book. I liked it perhaps also because I identified with the protagonist for age-related reasons.

But to deny that "Mellon Collie & bla bla" is a masterpiece is like denying the Holocaust?

It still has references to current events (drugs, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict) yet it feels quite dated. I saw it years ago in the dubbed version that the reviewer advises against. Indeed, the cat speaking in Romanesco wasn't the best.

For me, a 'big who cares' because MC&TIS is not the worst album I've ever heard, but it is the worst among the overhyped albums by critics.
