So: I'm someone who can be defined as a "fan" of Idlewild and "unfortunately" I pretty much agree with the review in question, even though there are some songs for me that are not worth saving but worth listening to every day!! Heheheh. It's true that The Remote Part was much better and the band almost had a face to uncover... but come on, I really like this album!! Live, I repeat... songs like El Capitan, I Understand It, and Love Steals Us From Loneliness are exceptional and on par with American English or Roseability... p.s. a 2 as a rating seems a bit low nonetheless... I understand your personal disappointment but...

This is an exceptional album and Idlewild are fantastic; they are one of my favorite bands. I've seen them live 3 times and I would love another 1000 opportunities like that. They have a gritty, alcoholic flavor that makes everything just so special... they are great.

I saw them live as the opening act for REM in Cardiff '05...I have to say they really intrigued me!! The completely useless but totally cool saxophonist!! I will look for the album...

Very good, I'm just missing the last album. They are really good and I like them a lot. One of those bands that once you decide to listen to them, they really get you going...hahaha
