Directly from the streets of Dublin comes the great return of one of the greatest songwriters of recent times: Paddy Casey.
Already in '99, he surprised both critics and public with his debut album "Amen." In October 2003 in Ireland and in March 2004 in England, he returns in style with a much more dynamic and perhaps even more engaging album, stylistically superior, well-arranged, and composed of songs that are tirelessly listenable.
Twelve tracks make this album an emotional and artistic masterpiece.
Cheerfulness, a desire to dance and smile, but also moments of melancholy, all of this is present and felt when listening to the second beautiful work of this great musician.
An album that is nothing but a simple testimony of a wonderful and admirable artistic maturation.
All the energy and talent emerge in this album in songs like "Saints & Sinners," an almost perfect song with a contagious rhythm (such songs are not easily found); "Miracle," which testifies almost a desire for rock experimentation, in songs like "All In A Day" and "Promise," where the compelling and energetic rhythm makes you want to dance, but also in the melancholy of "Anyone That’s Yet To Come," where the birds' chirping in the background highlights Paddy's seductive and clear voice.
"Living" is nothing but one of the most beautiful soundtracks of your happiest and saddest moments at the same time.

I had been wanting to talk about Paddy Casey, about this beautiful surprise from Ireland, one of those surprises that bring a gust of refreshing air.
I wanted to talk about him ever since a friend of mine returned from Ireland in the Fall of '03. Beautiful, it all started with an SMS from him up there: I'm listening to my new idol: Paddy Casey. I already have the CD. Upon his return, the first thing I ask about is this guy, he makes a copy of the CD for me, and that's how a breeze from within makes me jump, a wave crashing on the rocks, wonder and amazement.

Paddy's journey is a maturation, as we've said, that evolved over a few years from the streets of Dublin, and that led him to even open for bands as big as REM in '99 and Bob Dylan and U2 just this summer. It can't just be a coincidence.
Let's hope he gifts us with a new work soon and maybe comes to perform live in flesh and blood here in Italy.
Thank you, Paddy.
