"This radiostation was named Kowalski/in honour of the last american hero/to whom speed means freedom of soul/but who is gonna stop him...". The emptiness of Audioslave is evident in their latest video "Show Me How To Live". They were never the most original, but to go and quote a quote IS REALLY RIDICULOUS. In fact, Primal Scream had already titled one of their albums "Vanishing Point" back in 1997 in honor of the film of the same name, which featured a madman named Kovalski fleeing in a car across the United States, chased by everyone. Now they are even copying it, removing Kovalski from DJ Soul's sampling (which alone is worth the whole film) and putting Audioslave in instead. I was really disappointed. What a shame! Goodbye Audio "fucking" slave.

Daniele, it is very nice that you review albums and I would like you to always do it, but why not challenge yourself with an album NOT on the review list? It's up to you, this is not a criticism, actually, you wrote really well, good job.

No. I'm not obsessed with the Smashing Pumpkins. I like them, like many other bands. I believe they opened my ears during a time when I was always listening to the same things, and I’ve seen that they’ve been germinal for a thousand other crappy little bands. "Under The Bridge" is a cliché song, even though I really like it. Let's say it's the most mainstream track on the album, but "Suck My Kiss" and "Give It Away" are on another level. I’m sorry, Daniele, de gustibus...

I've been listening to them for a while. I was thinking about reviewing them and just when I had made up my mind, this review pops up. I like them a lot, with their fragmented and choral way of playing. The voice becomes an instrument that flows together with the bass, guitar, and drums. They surprised me because they're not really my genre. Good job, but if you also fix the grammar...

...a bit like when you go swimming and water gets trapped in your ear. It takes some pressure (from your hand) to clear it out. For me, this record was like that. I was stuck on The Smiths, The Cult, The Cure. Then they came along in 1991, and a couple of years later the Pumpkins in 1992. Then I started to realize that the Pixies weren’t just shouting...

Beautiful review, Hal. I envy you for having heard "Sweet Jane" live, something that has never happened to me. It’s my all-time favorite, along with "Straw Man" (from New York). Du Duddu duddu dudduddu

Daniele. This album deserved more. Its polyhedral mix of sounds that alternate in the various songs, masterfully produced by Rick Rubin, the disarming simplicity of Frusciante's guitars, the switch between upbeat tracks and melodic ballads, could have been better represented. Not to mention the reference to the most obvious and least poetic song on the album, "Under The Bridge." buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Did they do "Finest Worksong," "The One I Love," "Harborcoat," and "Pretty Persuasion"?

I saw that concert too, I think on RAISAT SHOW or JIMMI. I've been obsessed with "The Man Who Sold The World" lately, a true masterpiece. Anyway, masterful review, Mr_Iko.
