Much more spontaneous and lively than Call of the West, it's a shame that this album has been hard to find for quite some time.

Remarkable. It sounds irresistible in dance tracks but even better in those that hover between funk, jazz, and soul influences. Antony's voice makes the difference.
John Zorn Filmworks XIX - The Rain Horse

Well, excuse me, but the review is lacking for such a beautiful album. Here we find a Zorn who assembles gypsy melodies, harmonies from Eastern Europe, exotic dances, and classicism. Elegant and timeless chamber music that at times takes your breath away, as in the fifth track "Forests in the mist." PS: this is a soundtrack made in one day for a phantom 11-minute Russian animated short film.
Gus Van Sant Paranoid Park

Change the context, but the film ultimately tells an episode of Pinocchio. "Paranoid Park" is the land of toys and there's even the Talking Cricket (the acne-ridden girl). The art cinema "Rosebud" in Reggio Emilia was almost sold out (210 seats);))

For me, the entire album is impressively beautiful. But the track that "kills" is the central one called ETCHED HEADPLATE. You listen to it and it never leaves you. That stretched, compressed, filtered voice. It reminds me of Gianluigi Toccafondo's animations where images continuously transform into something else and become poetry.

Finally, an animated film that tells a story and it's a beautiful one too. The director expresses himself better here than in The Incredibles, where the aesthetics overshadow the narrative, but his masterpiece, for me, remains The Iron Giant.
Carlo Mazzacurati La Giusta Distanza

A postcard that smells of good feelings. The setting is beautiful, but the movie seems to me a rather unconvincing gimmick. The usual Italian performances, when compared to English or Spanish ones, become embarrassing.

Great to see you all back on this little page. Odra was right about Riccardo Aphex; just the other day I listened to it again and found it really aged. So one might think that all that avant-garde or semblance of genius is running a bit short on breath. Yet listening to this faux French artist now is an unchanged pleasure. Perhaps the secret lies in not always having to be ahead and realizing your ideas, even if they are few but good. And for twenty years now, Lu Cont/Price/LRD has truly mastered this. And as Flood used to say, this benefits those around him—just look at Madonna, who may not be to everyone's taste, but how can you remain indifferent to at least two killer remixes bearing her name (Get Together and Jump)? Not to mention Zoot Woman...
