Ratatouille is a traditional Provençal dish made from stewed vegetables, a simple dish that in Pixar's animated film becomes a triumph: the realization of a dream.

The dream is to become a chef, like the famous Gusteau, head of the kitchen of the most famous restaurant in Paris; the strange thing, however, is that this dream spins in the mind of a country rat. Thus begins the story of Remy, who, in an attempt to combine more flavors together, making food not only a tool for survival but also a pleasure for the palate, finds himself having to flee with his entire community of country rats. During the escape, his path diverges from that of his family and friends; he will unknowingly find himself in Paris and more precisely in the restaurant of his gastronomic idol, Gusteau.

Remy will become the mysterious mentor of the kitchen boy Linguini; the secret hidden under the white chef's hat will not last long, but that short time will be enough to win the tremendous verdict of the strict food and wine critic Anton Ego.

After the wonderful "The Incredibles," Bird returns to amaze us with a story that is simple and brilliant at the same time: just think of the idea that a rat accustomed to eating leftovers and waste could develop a passion for cooking. The original script rich in contemporary insights such as the difficulty of the female protagonist in making her way in the male-dominated world of "elite" cuisine or the commercialization of a quality brand born from modern global consumerism is combined with Pixar's meticulous and increasingly perfect animation, truthful and irresistible from the fur of the intrepid protagonist to the glass of the wine glasses.
