Review that captures the essence of an album so changeable and often brilliant. The French continue to experiment and they know how to do it well. Perhaps musicians like Avril struggle to be heard (in Italy, at least) because our ears are becoming increasingly stereotyped.

I agree with the assessment of the record, especially compared to what they had already delivered in all their previous albums. I don't agree that in the early days there were only a few of us listening to them. The fact is that the Smiths were never small. The debut was celebrated and listened to abundantly.

I accept the invitation. Let’s say that between a break in alternating the two records on perpetual repeat (i.e., Nine Horses & Kate Bush), there might be room for some frivolity. These days, I find it fantastic that two artists (born in 1958) are simultaneously offering two sonic artifacts that sound like masterpieces. Moreover, both have created lyrics of rare intensity. It would be nice if someone, with a good command of English, could dedicate an in-depth analysis to this.

Passionate review. You conveyed the idea well. The only note is about the social centers. They didn’t even save those... I say this because together with one of them (let’s say the most brilliant), we created a club that made history (an ARCI circle, can you believe it!). And he was even the president in the first year.

Long live the Young Gods. Speaking of live performances, has anyone experienced the exhilarating feeling of attending one of their concerts? It was the 1995 "Only Heaven" tour, which along with "L'eau rouge" are my favorites. We invited them to the club we had just opened in Reggio Emilia. Franz Treichler, the frontman and a great artist, turned out to be a wonderful person. The live show was unforgettable. In fact, we lost some money on it, but the 450 attendees left musically blown away.

Dear Antoniodeste, let's put it this way: the news makes me personally happy and I wanted to share it. It's true that it doesn't change anything about the greatness of the album. But we live in times when even a marginal thing like this can bring some joy, right? The ranking is the "official" one from the Italian charts, including the major labels. In fact, Sylvian's small label emphasizes on the website that there are only two independents in the top 30. This raises interest especially for those who do not live in Italy. They cannot explain this "Italian phenomenon." Especially for an album that is NOT rightfully credited to David Sylvian but as a new name. This is what the forum on davidsylvian.com is questioning, as they've opened a topic specifically about this news. Does anyone have the answer?

A precise, well-crafted, and passionate review. I emphasize passionate because the band seems anonymous to most, including myself. Curiously, I tried to dig around on some reliable sites and the general consensus appears to be a decent rating (let's say a 3), certainly not a masterpiece. However, it's nice to hear someone share their passion.

The news makes us proud, for once, of our country. The album has climbed to the 23rd spot on the sales charts in Italy. This is proudly reported by the website of Sylvian's small label. www.samadhisound.com On the site, you can watch the magnificent video for Atom and Cell created by the artist Shoko Ise.
