The intriguing sonic trajectories woven over the last twenty years by the Giovani Divinità, of which this vital mausoleum is full testament, represent a patently clear example of enduring and magnificently unyielding spectacular creativity. A true sonic monument this (double) digital work emanated on the occasion of the artistic and vital twentieth anniversary of the trois merveilleux, stratospheric, sound manipulators from Switzerland.

Often the manufacture of old material-typological "recycling-operations" in the form of chronological and/or singles summaries translates into detestable as well as artistically negligible "best of" aimed semi-exclusively at scraping the infamous, worn-out barrel bottom (thus finally drying out the languid wallets of aficionados). In happy antithesis, the meticulously crafted work by Franz & evergreen company seems to be an unmissable opportunity to (re)experience (especially for those who are not quite clear on what they have promulgated in the last XX-Years) what authentically intriguing and open-minded achievements they have realized across the seven official studio albums, in the electro/industrial field (and beyond), also to (finally) disseminate and make accessible previously unheard and clangorous (im)materials virtually untraceable and of excellent caliber. The voluminous audio-boulder (145 tracks) unfolds in two distinct, separate sections: the first artifact (semi-superfluous notably for the admirers mentioned diametrically above) is configured as a real and proper, spectacular "best of" comprising just twenty (what a coincidence) phenomenally high-quality fragments, summarizing the entire span of Their significant work: ranging from the somber rhythmic/percussive algorithms of the indomitable "Envoyé" to stern and intriguing sound-monoliths such as "L'amourir" or "Skinflowers" reaching up to the techno-hyper-dynamism of the two extracts from the last (true) studio work of 2002.

In the opening, a pleasant surprise, a new unheard gem titled "Secret," decidedly heralding more than rosy expectations for the planned/predictable career continuation: an enveloping effectively electro-noisy audio-mash. The second section of the discussed colossus, the most intriguing for long-time appreciators and simply branded "Remixes & Rarities," consists of a myriad of misleading, intriguing often unheard and elusive audio-treatments not exactly easy to find today. The unsettling multiple (neo)rarefactions proposed in "Astronomic," the Megadrive Mix of the spectacular "Gasoline Man" definitively overwhelming or also the wonderfully bucolic live version of the Morrison-like "The End," filled with disorienting and somber sitarisms, and finally the dub-work carried out by Mad Professor on "Kissing the Sun" constitute (among the many) an essential and valid reason to evaluate positively the immense/substantial pseudo-collection in question of what objectively remains to this day a paradigmatic, accomplished, and happy exception in the European sound-investigation field.
