Galaxie 500 Peel Sessions

Much of what each of us feels we've lost by living our youth in the 80s is reflected in the music of Galaxie 500. This makes them still fascinating, and this review heightens the desire to listen to them again. However, their first album, TODAY, is from 1988, so they didn't appear before John Peel completely unprepared.
Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto Vrioon

I gladly welcome your enthusiasm, Wanderer, and also a bit of envy because this live performance would have been memorable. Listening to these records and adding them to Nicolai/Raster Noton’s projects, I’m convinced that this German artist has become a key figure in understanding the evolution of contemporary sound and its relationship with images. I believe Carsten Nicolai will be remembered for his innovation in the same way that John Cale's work is regarded today. Anyway, beyond these considerations that are ultimately fleeting, the emotions remain, the spaces to be filled generated by their sonic universe, renewed and different with every listening. Rather, Wanderer, at this point, I invite you to focus on the new Revep or perhaps a nice report on the magical evening. It’s up to you.

I had been courting this jap for a while. Now, pushed by your splendid double review, I start with these two records.
Matmos The Rose Has Teeth In The Mouth Of A Beast

One of those groups that require you to be well-disposed and motivated to listen. I haven't found this "disposition" yet. I tried with "A chance to cut" but with negative outcomes. I believe it's a matter of time. I'll give it another shot, perhaps with this one, in the next season.

Well, if we then add that the immense Rilke wrote in German, we should reassess our prejudices about this language.

Valuable review. From what I've heard of the album, it represents a successful balance between pop melodies and experimental attitude. Furthermore, her singing manages to sound sweet despite the harshness of the Germanic language. It had been since Nina that I hadn't listened to such an interesting German voice. P.S.: regarding the weather/music/images relationship, check out this video: www.theunseenvideo.com

These Belgian chameleons exude cheerfulness. From the samples, they seem so skilled and virtuous that they make your head spin, and perhaps after prolonged listening, something else might happen too :) perfect review
Happy Mondays Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches

What a beautiful written polaroid. I see myself in this vintage photo too, even if my "horse" was Bobbie Gillespie, perhaps more talented. I also saw him recently and he was looking quite rough.

Folktronica to the cube. Nice concise review. Good job Juana too, but after a while it sounds a bit cloying to me.
This Mortal Coil It'll End In Tears

An album that you need to have lived through to fully appreciate. The impact was massive, especially since 4AD was the "leader" of dream pop. Heard recently, it seems a bit dated, but some tracks like the first two are of immortal beauty.
