In my opinion, you started off decently with the review of the Sadist: there were just a few typos and some bullshit with the translation of the titles (in this regard: 1 - if you're bad at English/aren't sure of the meaning, why the hell do you translate it?! - 2) to those who asked you why you translated the titles, you replied, if I remember correctly, that, in your opinion, it was necessary to understand what the song was about. But if your translations are wrong, it means you didn't understand a damn thing either, did you?!?). But now you are exaggerating!!.. you're reviewing one historical album after another (this one, the one by Pentagram, the first Bathory).. and always poorly!!.. just try re-reading the first four lines of this: you'll find at least three repetitions. Not to mention the outright nonsense at a musical level!.. I don’t want to be a pain in the ass, but Jesus Christ, at least proofread them before sending!!.. or tackle less demanding albums! Personally, I've had enough comprehension: already in two reviews I wanted to leave you a bad rating/comment, but I held back. But now enough! It's not like we're a bunch of budding Manzonis here, so at least try to avoid spelling mistakes! I've noticed that you justified yourself multiple times with a "everyone can make mistakes." True.. but to err is human, to persist is foolishness. I’m having a shitty day, so I’ll make amends and give you a decent rating, bye.

I believe that the skill of a writer also lies in their ability to express difficult concepts with simple words... and not the other way around! I hope you'll forgive my rating. Great album.

I agree with those who spoke before me (especially Fidia): I wouldn't say that the Lost have been overrated, quite the opposite! @Nekro: I’ve never seen the Lost live, to be honest, but I remember one hell of a concert by MDB where death seemed, at times, a pleasant escape.. If you tell me that Holmes and company were even worse, I’d say I didn’t miss out on anything!

The history of music is full of injustices: I also think of Exodus, active since '81 and still known today by many as "the band where Hammet used to play." I've always thought that the greatest misfortune/weakness of Heathen was being too late to the masterpiece, when the embers were already dying after a debut ('87-88?!? ... I don’t know...) that seems to me (but I'm going from memory) not exceptional. Meanwhile, Dark Angel, it must be acknowledged, released 3 albums, of which 1-2 are masterpieces, within 4 years between '85 and '89. It's the "historicity," the "necessity" for the genre, that I believe is lacking in Heathen. This perhaps justifies the fact that they ended up in the land of the forgotten?... or that their true merits are not recognized? Or that "Time Does Not Heal" is unjustly praised?!... probably not. I just want to say that the "greats" usually are such because they arrive before the others... P.S.: my outburst with poor ThunderChild is one of the stains on my debaser curriculum that I am most ashamed of: I was in a really bad place and wanted to fight with someone... and I found him! On some things he was even right, but I didn't want to give him the satisfaction... and I overdid it!!! So much so that I even apologized to him with a private message after some time. Just thinking about it still makes me ashamed... :((((...

Getting back to us.. defining "Time Does Not Heal" as the greatest thrash album of all time, in my opinion, is pretty much bullshit, like many things that are read and have been read in specialized magazines: I remember how Angra's debut was received on - I believe - Metal Shock.. just thinking about it still makes me angry. I think that the double standards depend a lot on the "Hoglan factor," which, it’s useless to deny, has significantly increased the fame of Dark Angel.

...in fact, right after I sent the previous post, I realized I said something stupid... for a few seconds I even hoped it would go unnoticed, but then I remembered I was talking to "THE expert" on the subject: I had no hope!!:DD!! if it counts as a mitigating factor, today I was a guest at my sister's who made donkey with polenta... I think I'm still in a post-meal cuddle phase!:DD!

Well... I fear it has become clear that when Slayer are involved, it’s difficult for me to remain objective... Personally, I have always believed that, at least until Seasons, Araya and the gang have always deserved and legitimized their status as a step above the others. And this is due to a mixture of elements, an alchemy of factors that cannot be found "concurrently" in other bands. I think of the artwork, which, with the exception of the goat on SNM, drawn with crayons by some Satanic child, and the Romero-style of Live Undead, has always been of excellent quality, avoiding the many blunders made by groups of that era. I think of their systematically uncompromising attitude (to find an arpeggio in one of their songs, you indeed have to wait for Seasons). The fact that they managed to create their own sound, their trademark – notably the "Slayer-like" use of the tritone (Infernal Majesty know something about that) – is significant. They have had a rather stable lineup, been great provocateurs (for better or worse... as long as they are talked about...). But above all, they have, in certain ways, pointed the way, perhaps not being the first, but surely among the first: between Reign in Blood and Victims of Deception, there are 5 years steeped in music and bands that have drawn inspiration from that album. Not to mention, of course, excellent songwriting and production. In short, which other band could boast all these elements?!

Congratulations!.. really exhaustive review. The definition of "compitino" for the cover of Immigrant Song is spot on: it left me quite perplexed at the time. The album is very good, no doubt about it.. but the masterpieces remain the first two ("The city is guilty, the crime is life, the sentence is death.. darkness descends..".. wow, how beautiful!). Too bad about "TDNH".. I completely agree with Hoglan! Great job. Well done.
