mmm... indeed, all this resentment is really unjustified!! Is it the fault of the new layout?!?:DD Maybe it's just that they really let me down: everyone waiting for them to refine their sound, and they come out with a cover album that barely deserves a download... They shouldn't have done this to me, that's for sure!! :((

Ehh?!? I mean, in your review you write: "the musical style is typically Stoner Sludge", because they say they play Sludge?! If they had said they play speed-thrash, would you have written: "the musical style is typically speed-thrash"?! Well, it doesn’t matter. Anyway, I’m listening to it again right now and I confirm that there’s nothing sludge about it. Rather, I remembered something that struck me on the first listen: the vocal lines are definitely (too?!) catchy. Especially in Mirror Messiah: they remind me a lot of another song from some totally forgettable metal band that I just can’t recall...

Sludge?!? Look, I listened to it some time ago, but I don't remember it being sludgy... I remember it being heavy stoner doom, chunkier than a computer expert and more pumped up than the Colombian national team. But sludgy, not at all. Nice, but not sludgy. To put it another way, the fact that I listened to it and didn’t even feel the urge to mate with my goldfish would seem to exclude that it’s sludge. But maybe I'm wrong. I’ll go listen to it again.

A few weeks ago, I listened to their new cover album ("Undercover") and if two hints don’t make proof, three hints surely make a certainty. But I’ll say it straight: in my opinion, we shouldn’t expect a damn thing from them. The first (this one) was a decent debut, lacking in personality, but it gave some hope. The second ("39 Laps") was more focused, but also more melodic and overly catchy. Basically, instead of eliminating the flaws of the debut, they brought out some new ones. With the third, they start doing overused covers, moreover without any particular creativity. The only song that stands out is "Burn," for which they put in a bit more effort. I also don’t understand all this comparison to 35007... in my opinion, we’re talking about two completely different planets, or at least two very different approaches to the genre. Besides, to create even half of the rawest song by 35007, it takes an entire album by Monkey 3; these guys are shockingly square, they have a much less pronounced space component, and their crescendos are really too predictable. For heaven's sake, I’ve got 39 Laps in the car and it's fine, it rocks, you listen to it gladly. But those who have been saying for years that they are the heirs of 35007, in my opinion, haven’t seen it quite right. There you go…
William Faulkner L'urlo e il furore

One of the most "challenging" books I've ever read. It almost seems like Faulkner wants to see how far the reader is willing to follow him. The choice to place Benjy's narrative at the beginning of the book I think would be considered an editorial suicide these days! :) I wouldn't even know what "vote" to give... Over the years, I've found myself wanting to reread some passages from Quentin's narrative, yet I would never count it among my "favorite" books; I don't think I would ever recommend it to anyone... However, I'm glad I read it.

Well, at least the 25,000th was a nice review... Good job! :))

Lovely chronicle: all heart as I like it. It's strange because AIC were (back in the day) one of my favorite bands, yet when it came to choosing between them and the Melvins, I had no doubts... I'm glad it was a "magical" evening. Sorrisi is magic. Sorrisi's forevaaa.

Also because, at this pace, you'd run through 7 albums by the Feast of the Immaculate Conception...
