And instead, with great sadness, I must confess I have been decidedly disappointed by Romero's latest products. Recently, I watched Le cronache dei morti viventi (the one by the amateur videomakers, shot in the style of Blair Witch Project or something like that) and Survival of the Dead (L'isola dei sopravvissuti - the one set on an island, with a western twist). If the first one, upon closer inspection, has a little something interesting in it, the second one dangerously resembles a steaming pile of dung. Better: if the idea was to make a parody of the genre, well, then it could have been much funnier. If, on the other hand, the idea was to add a new chapter to the saga of rotting flesh, then it truly is that aforementioned mountain of mud... Still on the topic of crap inspired by the world of the undead, I would mention (without recommending it, by the way!! :D) "Io zombo, tu zombi, lei zomba," a maccheronic parody of the genre from the late '70s or thereabouts: a decent piece of crap, but it does manage to squeeze out a few chuckles. :)

"one of those bands of pure Hard Rock that stood out in the rock scene in the early '80s when among the rockers..." Very good!

@Jdv: I’m always on the hunt for zombie movies!! I didn’t know about La Horde: totally noted and already in the process of getting! Thank you so much! We should make a list, a ranking... :)

@Dark: "All the Dead..." is a sort of "whim" by Pupi Avati. Essentially, it revisits several tropes of the gothic-thriller-horror genre (the house lost in the mist, the murderer, the investigation...), calls back many of his favorite actors (like Delle Piane), and ultimately creates a sort of "self-deprecating" piece that is quite silly. It's not a masterpiece, but it has its share of brilliant moments. And you can always show off by quoting it in your reviews of other zombie films! :))

I confess I was a bit surprised by Alexuccio's fondness for this film. I imagined him more connected to a certain author cinema of the early twentieth century, to the ruthless black and white of certain masterpieces of Euro-Asian cinematography such as "Rocco invades Belarus" or "The farmer's wife does it all the time." Dark, have you seen "All the dead except the dead"?

I watched it this afternoon. Cute. Very cute in several parts. But – as far as I'm concerned – nothing more. Harrelson confirms himself as one of the few enlightened ones who knows how to not take himself too seriously. The male lead really seems at ease in the role of the somewhat alienated nerd (too bad the character's fetishistic side wasn't more pronounced: there could have been some fun gags). All the hullabaloo surrounding Bill Murray, on the other hand, has moments of true genius. It probably deserves a passing grade just for those 20 minutes.

The review is a bit "off." To put it in Agnelli's words, it’s as if you have everything in your head but can’t manage to say it... Who knows. I can't tell if you're a supercazzolaio par excellence or not. In doubt, I won’t vote. I heard something on YouTube and it’s so far from what I usually listen to that it’s better if I don’t express myself. In short, maybe it would have been better if I just had another slice of pizza and didn’t leave this comment.

Great movie, clearly indebted in large part to the acting performances and the dialogues (personally, I really like Alan Arkin too, the most understated character of the five, with his constant mirroring of the interlocutor. His dialogues with Ed Harris at the bar and in the car crack me up). Perhaps not all the characters are perfectly characterized (frankly, I was a bit puzzled by the figure of "Ricky Roma: ruthless salesman, yet respectful of the older colleague" that is suggested at the end), but stika. I think I have a bit of a fixation for movies set in a single location (like 12 Angry Men). Good review.

Can we replace "influential" with "to be reassessed"? And "not to be reassessed"?
