Mmm... I confess I didn't grasp the essence of the book. Better: I understood one aspect of it, but I'm not sure if it's the author's intent. Let me explain: nowadays, anyone with a minimal amount of brain knows the limitations of the characters in question and how disproportionate their success is compared to their abilities (even if I admit I’ve read very little of Camilleri). Just to avoid bringing up the usual debates (which, in my opinion, are indeed valid) about Saviano: Mauro Corona has sliced through consumerism, Allevi is perfect for Fiat advertisements and not much else, and regarding Grillo, I think the comments on the editorial currently featured on his page suffice. But the problem—and this is what I haven't understood if it’s the author's thought—are not so much these characters, their mediocrity, but the fact that they are successful because they give the illusion to ignorant people of having culture. A bit like what happened in the past with The Da Vinci Code, these people allow any eel-brained individual to say, "You know, I also listen to classical music. The latest Allevi, for example, I liked it a lot." Simplifying everything, it’s the old story of the dog chasing its tail. Worse, Grillo and his nonsense or those who listen to him, ecstatic, rolling on the floor with laughter when he calls Montalcini an old whore? Quite a battle...

For some strange reason, I've been really into these black-non black bands lately: after decades of hating that hysterical cat-like singing, I almost find it enjoyable now. I wasn't familiar with Agalloch, and I decided to start with this album: it's really thick stuff, I liked it a lot. Especially because it elegantly combines distortions and melancholy. The only problem is that in some passages it gets a bit too gay and there are a few melodies that are a bit too "easy." For now, it's just a 4. Who knows, maybe over time it will grow like the hips of a girl becoming a woman.

Oh wow! A new de-user! How strange, though: that emo tuft would suggest he’s a young lad, but the dusty listens imply tastes more typical of an octogenarian. In any case, welcome to the Blechtropical debasement!

I wasn't crazy about Horisont either... If I remember correctly, from Örebro there were also Trouble (I can't remember if it was with a D or not) Horse, who maybe were nice, maybe not. The fact that I don't remember a single note of their work makes me lean towards the second hypothesis. Very good, still in the revivalist pot, were The Beginning of This is... which were released - if I'm not mistaken - on Elektrohash. Now that, if you're looking for that kind of sound, was really good stuff.

I just couldn't bring myself to like them. Not even during my peak obsession with the retro rock scene in Örebro. Let's skip the originality discussion, as it wouldn't make much sense considering the proposal anyway. The fact is, one can (and therefore must) "recycle" (quotes intended) with style... Witchcraft and Graveyard (and others) have done it by reinterpreting the original material with their own attitude. Here - in my opinion - the drive and personality are completely missing. Technically, we are at levels that are almost embarrassing. The singing is at times annoying. For me, it's an inadequate album. I remember listening to their follow-up, which - if I recall correctly - they made an effort to vary the sound, possibly following some lineup changes: the result, as far as my memory serves, was quite a mess.

Genre has never particularly interested me. In fact, I generally think it's female singing that doesn't drive me crazy, except for very rare cases (e.g., The Gathering). Even the highly praised Cristina from Lacuna has always bored me quite a bit. The cover, in fact, is quite a lawsuit waiting to happen. Strange, because Smith usually has a much darker style reminiscent of certain works by Dave McKean. You are an excellent find, well done.

Information from the hygiene service: from today, breakcore is also among the de-genres. Best regards.

"it's as long as the orgasms of pigs even though it lasts 6 minutes instead of 30." You have potential, supergaetano. If you can use it with moderation, you will be our king.

No, no. I'm not talking about you, for heaven's sake. In terms of reviews, your contributions to the site are mediocre: you don't write particularly well, you’ve sent a bunch of duplicates, and you're not even prolific. So much so that no one has noticed the difference/has missed you. I'm talking about quite different people and (also) other sites.
