The lesson from Napalm Death is clearly heard in this "Mass Destruction," a title that already says it all; it is the second creation for the entity Curse of the Golden Vampire, which has arrived on Ipepac and consists of Justin Broadrick and Kevin Martin (already known as Techno Animal and involved – together and separately – in at least thirty other projects, including Ice, Jesu, Godflesh, Final, King Midas Sound, The Bug, Sidewinder, and the same Napalm Death), here also freeing themselves from Alec Empire, who had participated in the equally devastating debut.
A series of insane bursts at insane speeds is what the two bring forth, this time also successfully engaging on the microphone, spewing inhuman hardcore screaming, which surprisingly holds its own against the exaggerated walls of noise, distortion, and feedback. Between one wall and another, breakcore inserts, amen ravaged, dissonant guitar work, free jazz delirium, and assorted glitch/noise vanguards make everything even more deviant, perfect for this label, always looking toward experimentation and a bit of mental illness, which doesn't hurt.
They called it Scum'n'Bass. Not without reason.
