I know the album Focus by Cynic well. I had mentioned that I listen to "heavy" music sometimes too. And that album is incredibly interesting, both from a strictly technical standpoint and in terms of the overall music. I appreciate bold experimenters, and if that isn’t experimentation! Of course, it’s a bit dated (1993, if I'm not mistaken), but I liked it right away and I should still have the original on cassette somewhere. To conclude, I’ll transcribe the words of Michele Dicuonzo, which I think are quite indicative: ""Focus" is an album with an objectively stellar sound, characterized by ultratechnical thrash-death guitar work that is sophisticated in its solutions, periodically deflowered by fusion arrangements and progressive drapery. All the tracks included in this platter reflect such a state of emotional/instrumental grace, but it’s impossible not to mention the classic "Veil Of Maya," or the dizzying and intoxicating riffs, à la Schuldiner we could paraphrase, of "Celestial Voyage," not to mention the dreamy progression of "Uroboric Forms." An incredible work from a unique band. Cynic, synonymous with purest Art." ;o)

I don't know if it's "THE GREATEST BAND," but it's definitely "ONE OF THE GREATEST." 5 stars for this album are awarded most deservedly. Anyway, you have to listen to everything by the Clash. I'm also crazy about "Sandinista."

Alright, Giovanni Scarabelli.. I forgive you... waiting for your next concert. I'll come to listen to you, and if you suck, I'll bury you in insults. If you're good, I'll applaud. If you're stupid, I'll see it in person. The internet is deceptive. Let’s see if you have the same drive live.

The fact that "the Beatles would have wanted to write it" seems to me like a provocation from Corriere; the Beatles are way beyond that... Anyway, it's an amazing album. 5 stars (for once) fully deserved.
