For those who want to get to know the dirigible, these 2 CDs are a good start, even though if you become enchanted, you'll end up buying the entire discography... maybe starting with the live albums, whose tracks don't appear in the Greatest Hits.

Certainly not a chart-topping album that I thought would be hard to digest; there are tracks to savor with a more intimate flavor, so let yourself go with the listening, letting your mind wander through prairies and visits to the local saloon..... walkin' in the wild west...

Nice review and great album, I really hope that beyond analyzing the written words, someone also takes the time to listen to the work in question.
Dear Pastore, it seems to me that we are among the few who own this decent little record, which, even if I don’t listen to it all day, remains a pleasure for my ears.

I hope there won't be any replies to what has been said, also because this should remain a page dedicated to music, leaving aside the stances that might be more suitable for a (anti-)sports fanbase. However, let me say that if you want to talk about music, feel free, but with full respect for those who have the courage to share their 4 impressions (even personal) on a beloved album, especially since a portion of the "supposed" connoisseurs of the world of the 7 notes that have chimed in here have not provided any review at least on debaser. Have a nice day... oh, I almost forgot, maybe some of the recipients are already in kindergarten or do the nurseries open at the beginning of October???
One word for Adriano, thank you for the kindness, and as someone else said before me... don’t mind them, just look and pass... perhaps blasting "Synchronicity II" at full volume as a background.
To conclude, dear polkstreet (how nice to hide behind a nickname, like the bullies in the suburbs), if I didn't believe that my comment was worth a 5, out of respect for you readers, I would have never published it... perhaps if you applied this measure of evaluation, you wouldn’t allow your statements to be read here.

Well, to be honest, this time I rushed into saying that only people with a certain musical culture would show up on this page, even though true connoisseurs can be recognized from the first note, distinguishing themselves from the "pseudo-commentators" (almost like the pundits filling current studios discussing reality shows) who, although not chronologically 15 years old, evidently show that their attachment to teenage tastes proves they haven't dared too much in listening to anything different from their natural inclinations, remaining in their safe little world, WHICH I RESPECT! RESPECT, what a big word, perhaps an optional in the education code learned from Polkstreet, which allows you to call me a "frustrated hack," not knowing me and never having discussed topics directly with me. Well, if you don’t like The Police, don’t take it out on me and try to engage in what has been discussed on this page, which was very interesting until your interventions (by the way anonymous, since you signed with some sort of pseudonym) and that of Pocahontas (another nickname from an adult).
Anyway, both of you, whom I could only observe as (barely) music connoisseurs, take back the insults you improperly hurled at me, plus a nice square jerk for having taken liberties that no one ever granted you. That I may have written things that have been said about The Police for over 20 years could also be true; after all, the music of the three (the same that has never changed!) has been speaking for itself for at least 30 years (certainly older than you) with the records of Sting & Co.

....as someone said before me: "better few but good." Well, after reading the various posts following my opinion on "Synchronicity," I can confidently assert that at least when it comes to albums of a certain historical-musical value, the attendees are (almost) always passionate or at least good connoisseurs of the world of the seven notes. Sure, there are many dissenting voices (whoever compares Xtc to The Police, or claims to know twenty more innovative bands than The Police, please step forward with the list), and what matters is that this kind of record receives its due worth, perhaps more earned over time than at the moment of publication. Everyone has their own opinion and, of course, their own ranking of preferences, and that's just as it should be; this helps us understand that we are enthusiasts and not professional critics, whom you sometimes encounter on Debaser.
Note for Adriano: listening to The Police is mandatory for anyone who loves to hear a band that has truly contributed a lot to music, combining taste and melody. So, if you want to dedicate time to listening to Sting&Co, I would recommend starting with "Reggatta De Blanc," and then following the others in no specific order, keeping in mind that you can indulge in "Synchronicity" whenever you wish, especially since it enjoys a good half of its songs being quite popular and ones you may have already heard.

A brief clarification: when it comes to ratings, I have always been torn between the school of thought that believes greatest hits albums should be rated low because they are considered useless cash grabs, or as summaries of the best of an artist’s career published during times of great reflection or transition and thus worthy of the highest scores. Nowadays, I lean more towards the second option (rating: 4.5 - 5.00) because, considering the costs of CDs, a compilation helps to get closer to an artist without spending "MONEY" on entire discographies that might not even be appreciated. Thank you for the compliments and also to those who did not appreciate the review (perhaps it’s too much to consider it as such!!); a shoutout to Bernard who always enriches my comments with multiple contributions.... see you soon.

Thank you for the invitation The Punisher, which I have considered. I reread carefully what you wrote; subjectively (but very...) it expresses what it has represented for you, but I don't think everyone sees it that way. Commenting on an album also means referring to some titles (listing, what a terrible word; doesn't tracklist sound better?), it also involves expressing some concepts regarding the lyrics more than letting one's imagination soar too high, which is nice in itself but doesn’t exactly encourage someone to listen to or purchase an album... that's the purpose of a review (or am I mistaken?). It's true that there are dozens of sites where you can read comments more aligned with my description, but it’s also true that a piece like yours is not easily found................thankfully. There's no point in further replies, also because we are too set in our own positions.
