degregorius....and something about the reviews we never say....??????
Francesco De Gregori Calypsos - 9 canzoni nuove
Voto:
Sorry, degregorius, but since this is a review site, one should occasionally weigh in on the reviews (...) and not always just on the albums...
Francesco De Gregori Rimmel

@degregorius: it's quite clear that you like Degro... but why not comment on the quality (alas, terrible) in the pseudopoetic mini-review...???
Claudio Baglioni Oltre (Cd1-Cd2)
Voto:
and poor fortis... sells three records and doesn’t bother anyone... ramazzotti and pausini yes infest the world, along with bocelli, with the hated decadent phenomenon of "neo-romanticism," which even Baglioni (who had some hits...) has joined... The damage of post-Italian singer-songwriter era is that, in reality, we are going back to Claudio Villa.... (but to talk about Oltre, well... even if it’s pointless to mention it to poletti, Baglioni has done much worse, especially in the last ten years... come on...)

absolutely agree
Francesco De Gregori Titanic

you know...dave has a bit of a peculiar way of thinking...on the other hand, he has the name that betrays the idol (just like you...pardon...). I, who try to be objective about the prince while loving him dearly, say that after Rimmel he did some amazing things, that Titanic looks like Titanic and nothing else, but he also made a couple of albums that aren't bad, nor useless, but neither particularly essential...it's open to discussion...

@carmineman: I basically agree with your analysis, although I'm left with a doubt...: you say that here the "creative phase" comes to an end. Okay... without any doubt about the extremely high quality of this album, I don't understand how one can say that Nebraska or Born In The USA (let's set aside the overly eighties sounds...) are the product of a lesser creative phase...: perhaps it would be appropriate to decide how many phases there are in the Boss's career, and analyze each one...(a task for the devoted, of course... but I think that's where we are...)
Vasco Rossi Non Siamo Mica Gli Americani

I'm afraid you haven't understood my reasoning...amen...in summary: certainly those you mentioned (Vasco in the lead) ARE singer-songwriters, while Chrisma and Camerini are not...but I understand it was a reasoning that is difficult to summarize in just a few lines. Perhaps I will write more extensively about it on my blog (primiballi.blogspot.com...I would do it here too, but an exegesis on singer-songwriter music would seem a bit out of place on DeB...) and if you wish, we could discuss it there...
Luca Carboni Le band si sciolgono
Voto:
The effort made in this album towards a "singer-songwriter" style is only partially successful, but still commendable. In my opinion, the first beautiful album created the illusion that his was the new name of the "Emilian school" of singer-songwriter music, but to be honest, it hasn't turned out that way....(and the school, for the most part, has been lost...)
Edith Piaf The Voice Of The Sparrow: The Very Best Of Edith Piaf

great reception and splendid Edith both as a character and as an artist. Here, as in my Atahualpa, the voids are filled... well... well...
