beautiful, beautiful: the divisions I was expecting. Thanks to those who appreciated (at least the writing...) @killgod: aside from the substance...but the form: why 4 posts and not one??? oh well... @sket: count: I gave 4 stars...

Yes: the incompatibility of the old trilogy with the new... now that would indeed be a debate!

It would be nice to see where I haven't been respectful... (inviting you to consider whether between someone who keeps calling another presumptuous and the other who denies and asks why, who is really the one being excessive). Anyway, here as elsewhere on DeB, it would be necessary to write "non-fanatics please," since I have the feeling that criticism, even when (I hope) constructive and justified, is not very appreciated... (then, out of curiosity, do you only read the posts or are you familiar with my reviews...?). Anyway, I agree on the absolute futility of the debate and I greet you, without any grudges whatsoever (even though I fear you will still find something to nitpick in this sentence...).
Francesco De Gregori Titanic

@degregorius: I’m just now reading your post and, regarding live performances, I respectfully disagree. Faber (a genius in every way) was too much of a perfectionist during live shows and had a lazily passive tendency to not change a single note from his records, delegating so much, if not everything (because, with his personality, everything turned into something beautiful). The Prince, on the other hand, has always aimed, in a diametrically opposite way, to never do unnecessary live performances and to offer the devoted (us) alternative versions that are always complementary but never overlapping. In short, I believe, perhaps against the tide, that Francesco's live shows are among the very few not useless live performances in so-called light music, a kind of "quasi-jazz"... think about it: I am just honest, with myself and with others: I don’t post 3000 pseudo-democratic posts to hysterically confirm my idea (not that you do, I’m referring to others). I just defend my idea, knowing that I have one. Of course, I respect others’ ideas, which I know very well are not mine. The issue, often, is not as simple as it seems.
Pink Floyd A Momentary Lapse Of Reason

@coolermaster: I totally agree. "On an Island" is objectively a beautiful album, where Dave, in my opinion, "addresses" all the (pseudo) shortcomings of "Division," seasoning a sincere and genuine work by a man who has made it, who has nothing to prove and lives well in his situation. A completely different story for "AMLOR": here there was still anger, a desire to break away from Roger's overwhelming shadow. This is a strongly desired, studied, deepened, and conceived album. It's a shame that many haven't noticed (perhaps because they weren't around back then and, innocently, struggle to immerse themselves in the era...)

If I’m not mistaken, this is where he is trapped underground with an insurer as a form of torture...? I believe so, and in any case, it’s a film of genius comedy (then brand new, and today cloned a thousand times).

Nice little album, heavily influenced by the eighties sound (which isn't a bad thing, in my opinion...). I can only agree on the overvaluation of Mercury and the band, although both of them deserve some historical recognition for having made an impact...

a simple different view of things, nothing wrong...: everything is born, develops, has its golden moment, peaks, and then dies. I'm afraid it's a given. That's all. So-called light music has no reason to make an exception. But, I repeat, highly debatable opinions (as is the opinion of considering the objectivity and correctness of one's own). Salùt

Well...the answer fills my heart with joy, so I will certainly reevaluate you (you and your style, which you have).
