@odradek: clarification accepted and shared (the unique and somewhat indisputable fact, however, is that if we all played the "game" of naming our three favorite albums or three artists, it would be the triumph of a -right?- almost absolute subjectivism...: that's all, I've been wondering if an effort at objectivization is possible, but it's something I've been asking myself for a lifetime...). Kisses

@babel: fortunately/unfortunately for Vasco, you can say everything except that he is a failure, at least technically... kisses

@babel: did you send them all yesterday...? Thanks and kisses

@babel: both wrote beautiful songs, both in terms of music and lyrics. Let’s say that in the last years (80s and 90s) when they were both active, Faber was much more strict, austere, and less self-indulgent. That said, two giants, which perhaps it is also wrong to pit against each other... Kisses

the problem is always the same: do we give a damn about the audience? is it legitimate to do so? is one seller always the same as another seller (Guccini=Pausini)? seemingly simple questions. but let’s take just one: the fact that the CSI are, objectively, a cult (well-deserved) and niche group compared to, I don’t know, always Guccio, does that mean nothing at all? the fact that a Guccini or a Fossati have reached all of Italy with a non-trivial product doesn’t count at all? guys, we need to be careful of that thin red line that separates competence and passion from snobbery (I too prefer Colin Hay and Chet Baker to Sting and Miles, but I would never dream of saying that the former are greater, or equal, to the latter... come on…). kisses, always

@odradek: utmost respect for you, always. But Ferretti, coming from the same background as Fossati and De André, is as out of touch with history as he is with reality. If there is an objectivity, it is objective; otherwise, no (but in that case, even Pupo could be superior to Battisti... forgive the ratzingerata, but a limit must be set to subjectivity and relativism). Are you kidding? csi, Consorzio Suonatori Indipendenti, a group of (now former?) communist hillbillies from Emilia, quite talented, led by Lindo Ferretti, who changed their name every time the Soviet Union changed its name… (I might have gotten something wrong, but that’s not really my genre…). Anyway, Mogol's early lyrics weren't bad, actually... the second ones, let's say from 1971 to 1976. The last ones were just okay (after Lucio, Mogol will almost always be mediocre). You can say whatever you want about Panella, but it's definitely not elementary school stuff...

No: 883 to music is like Oriella Dorella to soccer.

old and useless vice of judging Battisti "politically." Ask the greatest Italian jazz musicians who have paid tribute to him (Sellani, Rava, Ghiglioni, etc...), all people who know their stuff, who love Lucio's music and who certainly aren't right-wing... and don't get me started on the "poets" (besides the fact that if you call DeGregori a poet, he'll hit you...); but music, in the land of singer-songwriters (even the greatest) has become an irrelevant variable...? Battisti was one of the greatest composers of popular music (as well as one of the greatest experimenters) in the high sense of the late twentieth century. Period. Kisses.
Francesco Guccini Anfiteatro Live

I stand by my point: both the previous tours and the upcoming one had decidedly better evenings... this amphitheater is definitely a great venue, but it could have come close to excellence with another night. Kisses.
