Well... TB is an undisputed master of images and atmospheres, but as a pure director, I find him lacking in rhythm, in punch, in true depth, and I believe it doesn't hold up on a second viewing (let alone the subsequent ones...) It’s often a topic of discussion with friends, and I am in the minority... I'm sure I will be here as well… link rotto

Yes, mediocre album (like everything by Pino after Ferry Boat for me)... I regret what I wrote: I must have been in exceptionally good humor... link rotto

Dear Tom, I’m almost starting to think I have a split personality... as always, I agree with you (come on, make me angry, promote the latest Jovannotti, so we can argue...) link rotto

As almost always, I agree with Tom. Dear DJ, the very lack of awareness regarding the harmfulness of D'Alessio or, in the pseudo-intellectual sphere, of a Jovannotti, is the sign of the seriousness of the disease. To those who say that even "in the '60s... etc..." implying that "let's love one another because the whole world is the same and it has always been this way," I offer just one irrefutable example: it is true, there were pop songs back then (better, much better...), but singer-songwriter music was mainstream and reached the top of the charts first and stayed there (remember, until the early '80s, Battiato and Dalla were vying for the first place for an entire winter, with great albums...? ). Today, that would be unthinkable. Dearest DJ, complacency and excess kindness are two cancers. Trust me, they need to be operated on and extirpated. link rotto
Miles Davis Tutu
Voto:
@pamparius: no one underestimates the importance of the Miles seventies (just think...), but it was a Miles that was as important as it was, in many ways, not very accessible to the masses (and that's not necessarily a bad thing...). What I'm trying to say is that Miles Davis, not some random fool, opened a channel of influence that is incredibly significant for me with Tutu to other genres, even those far removed from jazz and, if you want, much more trivial. In short, he found a "modus" to engage with audiences that were partly foreign to him (and I don't think the Tutu and Amandla tours were to be dismissed, as someone may have snobbishly claimed). @azzo: I fundamentally refer to a perhaps unanswerable question, namely how much black music (and not only black) has been influenced by the sounds, the sound of Tutu? To me, it seems like a lot, objectively, since, at least as far as I know, some things were absolutely unheard of before... Of course: it has influenced pop/funk more than hip hop, or jazz, indisputably, and it was perhaps the first time that Miles truly set trends in other fields (I mean... in electric jazz or fusion, Weather Report had more influence, just to be clear) rather than in his own or those closely related. Still, all these are respectable opinions. On the corner, more beautiful and more important (an indispensable box set, think about it, and this Christmas, obviously among those who listen to jazz, the trend was undeniable, if only because all the specialized magazines talked about it - quite insistently...) is a great episode, or for me, it's another discussion (I pass the ball on the influence on Radiohead, as I can't stand them). Vasco Rossi Gli Spari Sopra

Of course I remember Lucio, but it could also be a rearrangement quote...: but this is certainly not the best Vasco... well-made album, hyper-produced, but in every sense the first of the recent Vasco, the one that, except for very rare cases, no longer writes more than 2 lines per piece, and without too much effort... link rotto

Vasco Rossi Stupido Hotel
Voto:
I do not endorse the fool above: "Stupid Hotel" is absolutely the worst VR album... written by others and almost always poorly, with some good ideas that immediately get lost along the way, peaking at never-before-seen banality... the only positive aspect is the excellent post-production that makes it "sound" splendidly in the stereo, but nothing more, at least for me... link rotto
