I like Subsonica too... the reference was to the typical flirtations of certain artists and/or producers, who think that teaming up with the latest chart-topping act or the current pretentious intellectuals will sell more... it wasn’t an artistic judgment on Subsonica, far from me but - I must admit - definitely talented...

I'll respond myself...: so Vasco wasn't selling any records, the solution is all here. He started to sell a bit with "Vado Al Massimo", but especially with "Bollicine". So he couldn't attract the masses that moved Dalla-DeGregori with one of the greatest singer-songwriter projects of all time. That said, on the lyrics, I raise a respectful disagreement: no one, back then, was writing those things. It was pure "post-jannacismo," brilliant, provocative, deliberately silly. That's where the greatness lies, up to the spiritual testament of the live "Va Bene Va Bene Così"....kisses.

I would correct: to be heard also for the noble purpose of definitively distancing oneself from Titty Iron...

provocation in vain, not knowing who I am... I note Parodi and Lega... I hear and I tell you... but it certainly won't be us who will make them "mass" artists. I think that on one hand, the mindset of record labels has inevitably changed (it has emptied...), but on the other hand, I believe there is a huge shortage of great personalities, of great charisma lately.... (Vasco and De Gregori may have their own "industry," but they have an undeniable charisma that draws a wave of people to follow them even on lesser projects. And this is because their voices "say" something. Many others say nothing... A bit like the difference between Bono and Blunt...)

The problem is that the supposed unknowns I've tried to listen to so far (I mean our locals especially) make me feel nothing short of pity... when things go well, there's an impressive lack of personality (the one thing that the old guard almost always had...). But I'm more than willing to listen to advice, as always (to clarify, I'm stuck in Italy with Capossela and elsewhere with DMB... after that, I really haven't managed to find anyone worth listening to, let alone buying... obviously excluding jazz, right?)

Beautiful... last year's, with no new albums to offer, was better (the virtually complete performance of "c'è chi dice no" was lovely and intriguing, for example...) but this year's one stands its ground well. "La noia" is stunning and the electric medley is excellent (with hints of rarities like "sensazioni forti"...). The band has never been in such great shape, that's for sure. Even Solieri is less "sloppy" (in fact, he has more space). (Anyway, I could write an obviously ultra-provocative review... after all, provocations about Our Man always hit the mark...) Kisses.

And I, as you know, completely agree. I would just remove that "superficially," an exercise in excessive modesty. Let's leave it to posterity to judge superficiality, just like intelligence and other 10 hardly definable little things. The fact is that two Saturdays ago I was paying my annual tribute to Vasco at San Siro and I had as much fun as always, maybe even more... kisses.

Well... the latest live performances deserve a closer look... while the albums from "Stupido Hotel" to this latest one are certainly less inspired and almost entirely written by others, the live shows, in my opinion, showcase a Vasco more in shape than many years ago, and a very professional and tight-knit band... in short, you have a lot of fun at the live shows, setting aside all the doubts about the studio products, which are often pleasant, excellently produced but, aside from a few sporadic tracks, compositionally poor.
